DeRozan hits an elbow three. Was 1-for-16 on that shot in regular season.
DeRozan with an elbow 3, a shot he basically never takes.
First team to 150 wins.
Lowry from 3 in first 2 games of the series: 0-for-6. In 4 minutes tonight: 2-for-2. Good sign.
Raps fans in Washington helping Valanciunas "Get up Bird" http://t.co/TclNodOpgm
Lowry seems to be feeling better.
Wall waltzes by Ross with no screen. Yeesh.
Lowry knocks down his 2nd shot of the night and first 3-ball of the series. He and DeRozan were 0-for-8 from distance to that point.
Took Tony Brothers 45 seconds to screw up a call. Meanwhile, Bruno doing Get Up Bird when Valanciunas scores.
Could be a late arriving crowd ... But the game just tipped off in DC and there are a ton of empty seats. A ton
Some fans here in Washington doing Get Up Bird
Crowds in seats playoff rating - Toronto 10/10 Brooklyn 5/10 Washington 7/10
Verizon Centre is maybe 80% full during intros. Maybe.
Might have just called him Yoko Valanciunas.
Say this for the Raptors: They always win the mascot battle.
Jumped the gun! Wolf is now!
Three minutes until Wolf Blitzer.
Weird version of The Star Spangled Banner. Can't quite describe level of its weirdness.
If the Wizards play like that lady sang the U.S. anthem the Raptors will be in good shape.
Some classy Wizards fans booing Canadian anthem.
“Let’s go Raptors” call met with boos and “go back to Canada."
Raptors get booed on to the floor at Verizon Center, countered by a faint-but-determined "Let's go Raptors" ...
There are a fair number of Raptors fans here, as expected.
My guess is Hansbrough falls completely out of the rotation tonight.
A wee bit removed from the action in the Verizon Center seats http://t.co/lkf32ssOWd
If the Raptors lose tonight, I'm probably just going to write about Bruno tomorrow.
I'm not sure of that rumour's origin, but a few people asked about it. Good work, somebody out there!
Apparently there was a rumour out there that Kyle Lowry wasn't playing. He is. He's starting.
The NBA is starting a game in Dallas at 6 p.m. local time and a game in Washington at 8 p.m., in case you're wondering about priorities.
Amir Johnson in Tyler Hansbrough out. Expect lots of Patrick Patterson too. He’s been excellent.
Top priority (offensively) is getting DeMar/Lowry/Lou going. They have to make better reads out of coverage but Raps need bigs to make plays
Starts haven't been the problem but with Wiz loading up on DeRozan/Lowry & playoff off the bigs, Amir gives them another capable shot-maker
RaptorsMR tells us Amir Johnson starts, Tyler Hansbrough doesn't, for Toronto at Washington tonight
LRT: The Toronto Raptors can't not work blue.
Amir replaces Hansbrough in the starting lineup tonight, as expected.
Game 3. The setting changes. The Hayes pregame floaters remain the same. http://t.co/48pRmTckiv
Kyle Lowry's flu game
James Johnson has black hair again
Lowry on the Raptors being written off: "Let them count us out. At the end of the day, they still have to win two more games."
"I'm 100%, I'm not hurt. I'm not hurt at all. I'm 100% healthy. (Lowry laughs, knowing we aren’t buying it)."
The players are who they are, generally me-first, get my shots bunch. They aren’t inclined to pass it to him + JV needs to be in right spots
Question of the day: Why is it so hard for so many of you to grasp that the Valanciunas usage issue isn’t just a Casey thing?
To be clear, the usage % thing isn't totally on Raptors; JV could to things to better integrate himself. But.
Who had a higher usage % this year: Tyler Zeller or Jonas Valanciunas? Hint: it's the one that will annoy Raptors fans.
Greivis: "I’m not going to back down. I might not be the greatest athlete but I will hit some big shots and I’m going to hit somebody"
Greivis: "You know what? I woke up this morning & I was like, regardless of the outcome, personally I think we have to show more toughness"
Greivis says we'll see more of the "Maryland shimmy" if they win four games in a row. So, there's that.
Patterson: "The odds are against us but everyone on this team believes in one another and we don’t want to go home."
Pat on Casey's challenge: "I wasn’t taken aback because I know I want to compete. I know I want to play for this team... give it my all"
Pat on Casey challenge: “It was something he felt needed to be said. All my teammates were no the plane... Everybody must want to compete”
Bruno haircut. Not best angle (looks like Norris Cole): http://t.co/Jc73vvywAb
Lowry gamely said he’s feeling great though.
Another thing from shootaround: Kyle Lowry wasn’t doing much on-court stuff. Was clearly sick. As one reporter put it “frog in throat."
Georgetown is one awesome campus.
… sorts of platitudes. Words are nice, but even more meaningless than usual. We'll see at tip.
It's tough for teams to get into specifics during playoffs, because of paranoia about opponent listening. So, we're left with those...
More general talk about desperation and the like from Raps this morning at beautiful Georgetown University.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Casey start Amir or Pat over Hansbrough tonight. Wiz have loaded up on DeRozan/Lowry. Need another shot-maker
Lowry said he’s fine. Just has to stay in game. Said hasn’t been that bad (other than shooting) when in. Casey said everyone got on plane.
Lowry: "I'm 100% healthy. I understand the questions ... I have to pick it up, simple as that."
Nice setting for Raptors shoot around http://t.co/X2DBR3QKFq
Pellies losing like that takes some pressure off Raptors who are no longer team rest of league is laughing and pointing at.
Turns out turning Warriors-Pellies off with like 35 seconds left in fourth was a bad call! I thought Pels had survived epic collapse.
