HoopsHype Toronto Raptors twitter
Raptors have gone under screens twice on Brooks. He's buried a pair of 3s in their faces.
Greivis Vasquez just hit a step-back 3. Sure.
Raptors seem to be running some of DeRozan's plays for Ross. Been a good look. He's scored coming off a couple curls in 1st half.
The Raptors should just run isos for James Johnson every play.
Dare I say, Point Lou is actually a nice compromise between LOU!!! and no Lou.
Casey goes back to Ross early in 2Q. Lets see if he can string together a couple solid Qs. Havent seen much of this unit: Lou/TR/JJ/Pat/Amir
Best Q the Raps have played vs a winning team since win in ATL over a month ago. They scored 8 pts on 4 Bulls TOs, lead 9. Ross with 12
Raps up 29-20 after a frame. Good q, although a bit of a rough final minute.
Raptors look tremendous, Ross has 12 pts in 11 minutes and James Johnson is on the court in the first quarter. Go figure sports, I dare ya!
James Johnson is playing NBA basketball for the Toronto Raptors now.
Hey, it's James Johnson!
Just as predicted, the Raptors are in the midst of a picture-perfect 1Q against the Bulls, led by Terrence Ross.
My dream of them not having a whistle after 3 minutes and missing the television timeout dies with 64 seconds left :(
Make that 5-for-6 from deep for Ross and Vasquez. They've combined for 21 of the Raptors' 27 first-quarter pts. Raps lead is 13
Terrence Ross is awesome.
Raptors shot 1-for-10 from 3 in the first half last night. Vasquez and Ross are a combined 4-of-5 from distance in opening 8 mins tonight
More like Treyvis Vasquez.
3rd straight quality start for Ross, tho he's tailed off in the last 2. Again, seems to be making concerted effort to put ball on the floor
Raps up 15-8 at first timeout. They're playing well. Fo' real.
Terrence Ross has dribbled toward the basket twice now.
JV uses some Pau-like footwork to beat Pau for a layup. (That, or he traveled. Not entirely sure.)
I suspect, for the record, that number 2 is the reason for the relatively barren arena.
One of two things is true; 1. Fans can't stand to watch this team any more; 2. Most people didn't know start was 7 instead of 730.
Re: last night's late-game confusion... Raps havent been in that situation much this season. 6 gms decided by 3pts or less is fewest in East
Since Jan. 1, the Raptors have allowed 101.1 points/100 with JJ on floor. Next-closest rotation player, Kyle Lowry, is at 104.1
In hindsight Casey also said he probably could've gotten James Johnson in last night. Said team needed DeRozan's ball handling w/ Lowry out
Why did Lou & Amir say there was no play called? Casey said he called for a drag screen from Amir. "Drag is an action, not a play"
Casey on last nights final play: "It was my fault. Hindsight Im taking responsibility for it... In hindsight I should have called a timeout"
Casey says he should have called timeout once Lou pulled ball back out last night. Also that he could have gotten JJ some run.
Triano: he'll have a official sit down with TWolves about their plans for Wiggins this summer after NBA season /7
Triano: says Wiggins has grown to the point where he could lead the SMNT offensively and defensively ... 5/
Triano: Everyone is talking about the talent we have but my challenge will be getting everyone to play as team ... 4/
Triano: says he has not had a player say they would NOT play this summer; everyone they have spoken with is interested. /3
Triano: says that NBA summer league will be a conflict for some guys; by Olympic Qualifying should have a full complement to choose from /2
Jay Triano says the draw for Olympic Qualifying is fair; says he's eying a pool of about 30 players to pick from for the SMNT .../1
This is a lot funnier to me than when Gregg Zaun makes news.
Does anybody else say "nope" aloud when they abort a tweet?
Lowry has already been ruled out for tonight's game vs CHI. No surprise there. Wouldn't expect to see him again in March, at the minimum
Hello Young World!!!
Today is Kyle Lowry's birthday. If he's moving anything like he was yesterday, guessing he feels older than 29.
Has anybody famous for "telling it like it is" ever told it like it is? "The world is complicated and unknowable!"
Kyle Lowry is 29 today. Something tells me it's not a tremendously happy birthday for him.
Wheels down in Tdot... Ya en Toronto
Was playing basketball, so missed LouWill channel Chris Childs in same barn against same team, apparently
Getting on the plane. See ya. Raps and bulls on the FAN on wed. Til then .....
Saliendo para Toronto!!
Lowry: "I'mma take my time. I'mma make sure I'm completely and fully healthy before I even step back on the floor"
Lowry said he tweaked his back, twisted it the wrong way and couldn't finish the game. He doesn't plan on rushing back again.
Can you live with it? DeRozan: "Yeah, yeah. That's his shot and I'm living with it. Gotta live with. That's a shot he makes so many times"
DeRozan: "I've seen him make that shot hundreds of times. That's Lou Williams shot. You've gotta live and die by it"
Love the haters.... Esto continua...
Lou: "No different w/ the game was on the line. Thats a shot Im comfortable with, thats a shot that I make, thats the shot I missed tonight"
Lou: "If you've been watching Raptor basketball, right to left crossover 3-point shot, that's just the shot I shoot at the end of quarters"
Lou: "We didnt call a play. Once I got across halfcourt & realized we werent going to call a timeout, to me it became a routine play for me"
Lou said that's his shot & he'll live w/ it. Amir & DD said that's Lou's shot & they'll live w/ it. Nobody surprised by no T/O based on flow
In post game Lowry said the injury
Casey on last shot: considered calling timeout, said they ran & scored on same play in previous possession but Lou decided not to use screen
Jumping on the FAN. Off Twitter. Ugh. G'Night
Basic basketball: Timeout lets Pistons set D, get the ball to the guy who lived at the line all night. Williams made bonehead decision.
R. Jackson just told us on the FAN that if he was in the same position as L. Williams - down 2, on the road - he might have gone for 3PT too
And in a game where all of your perimeter options are failing defensively, James Johnson needs to play.
TOR loses 108-104.
Comeback falls short. Lou's last shot will be heavily criticized, as it should be. Raps will have to wait till tmrw, at earliest, to clinch
Bad all around for the Raptors, and it goes far beyond that final Lou shot, which was also bad.
