Iguodala was skeptical at first. “But it’s important not to dismiss things immediately so I thought on it,” he says. Kerr had made some good points. The second unit, so ineffective the previous season, needed Igoudala’s leadership and playmaking. And Iguodala appreciated Kerr’s directness. “I agreed with his larger vision,” he says. Plus, he adds, “I’ve been in this league 11 years and I want my professionalism to be something that stands out.” In the end, he accepted the demotion gracefully. “Who else is going to complain now?” says Kerr. Are there any dudes on the team who spend a little too much time in front of the mirror? Stephen Curry: We used to have one, Toney Douglas was like that. He's not on the team anymore, but he'd spend an hour getting dressed. For the most part everybody's pretty normal. Andre Iguodala probably has the most extreme style day to day. He's the guy that stands out. We don't have too many guys feeling themselves. GQ.com

When Rob Babcock was fired, if he know that losing Vince Carter was either a certainty, or a likely possibility, why on earth did he pass on drafting Andre Iguodala? I recall in the wake of passing on Iguodala, the reason given was that the Raptors had Vince Carter. But if Babcock knew that we might lose Carter, this reason vanishes! Thanks, Eli A: Rob had only been on the job a few weeks and hadn’t been involved in any pre-draft workouts – and Vince’s desire to leave was not obvious on draft night – and Rob took the advice of people like Jack McCloskey, who thought Araujo was the best choice. "I don't wrestle with (the new notion of playing the role)" said Iguodala, who added he thinks longtime Los Angeles Lakers sixth man Lamar Odom was the best to ever play the role. "The only time I think about it is when I get asked about it, so I just deflect the question, like, 'I don't want to talk about it.' That's just how I deal with it. Don't ask me about it. I'm just going to be ready to play tomorrow. USA Today Sports

As is always the case when the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers prepare to face off tonight, that tired, overused, overly-simplistic word that doesn't truly define what they have going here was dragged out yet again. Rivalry. "It's not a rivalry," Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala said with a grin as he clocked out Tuesday afternoon at the team's practice facility. "Neither one of these teams has done anything." USA Today Sports

Kerr for more than a month has spoken publicly about wanting to experiment with Andre Iguodala and Leandro Barbosa on the court together. That Iguodala has been helping run the second unit in the preseason is still surprising to some given his history in the league. "I'm pretty shocked," Barbosa said. "I don't think Andre has been in that position before for the many years that he's been in the NBA. He's doing a great job. "We have a really good chemistry so far, and hopefully we can bring that energy to the (regular-season) games." Oakland Tribune

How did you feel coming off the bench Sunday?: “It doesn’t matter to me who I’m playing with. I think I’m going to make anybody better. When I’m out there playing basketball, it’s just ‘let me do me,’ and everybody is going to benefit. I feel confident that whoever I’m out there with is going to win.” San Francisco Chronicle
