HoopsHype Andrew Wiggins rumors

Q: People always talk about the Cavs subplot with you, and the what-if idea about how you would have fit with that group – especially with Kevin Love being hurt now. But is that all behind you now or do you think about it? Andrew Wiggins: Me? I never wish hate on nobody, no team or nothing like that. The NBA is a business, first-hand, so I never really hate against nobody. I hope (the Cavs) go as far as they can go. Like every other team in the playoffs, I don't have no favorites and hope everyone does good. If I do watch a game in the playoffs, I just want it to be a good game. I'd rather see a good game rather than a blowout, so I don't really have no favorites. Kevin Love is hurt, and I hope he gets healthy soon and gets a chance to play. I want the best for all of them. More than half of the city's residents were born outside of Canada, so in some ways the globalization of basketball is coming home to roost, with immigrants bringing their interest in the sport as they settle into a pre-existing NBA market. "I feel like basketball is the biggest thing in Toronto," said Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins, the Toronto native who was the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft. Bigger than hockey? "I think so," Wiggins said. "I think it changed over." ESPN.com

You really wouldn’t expect anything else, but Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said there is no question that Andrew Wiggins is the NBA’s Rookie of the Year. “Anyone that throws anything else out, they’re dreaming,” Saunders said. “He is the most dominant rookie. He’s playing in a situation where because we’ve been so undermanned, he is the guy. Like (Monday), when we got the ball, he had three people over there trying to guard him. This has helped him and it will help him even more when we get veteran guys back and surround him with our other guys, too.” St. Paul Pioneer Press
