The Cavs signed Onuaku to another 10-day deal that began Tuesday. If they want to keep him beyond that, they’ll have to sign him for the rest of the season. For now, he’s a warm practice body while Anderson Varejao remains out with a back injury. Onuaku played one minute during his first 10 days and is fully aware that’s not likely to change in the next 10 days. His impact comes in practice. “I’ve been playing in Canton for two years, so they know me,” he said. “They know about my strengths and weaknesses. It’s not really about, ‘Let’s see what he can do.’ I just bring my physical presence to practice every day, bring my toughness and hard work. Everything else will work itself out.” Akron Beacon Journal

Williams correctly points out the club could not anticipate second-year power forward Darius Miller suffering a stress fracture in his left foot that required corrective surgery in September, sidelining him indefinitely, nor the toe chip fracture sustained by forward Ryan Anderson that still keeps him off the floor and could for several more weeks. Tuesday moves, he said, have been pondered for the last few weeks. "I don't make rash decisions," Williams said. "It's like everybody always thinks the worst all the time. It's seven games. There's no need for all that. We're going to try to tweak our roster as best we can to try to get better. That's the bottom line." New Orleans Times-Picayune
