Here is a fun little nugget for you… Beno’s wife is actually from Tampa. Beno would love to stay but its a business and he’ll go where the money is. Orlando will have his bird rights, so they can do a decent deal regardless of capspace. HoopsWorld

Sources say Milwaukee, however, was not willing to put Ellis or Ilyasova into the deal. Which left the Hawks with two choices: Trade Smith to Milwaukee for a package featuring Beno Udrih's expiring contract paired with forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute … or keep Smith beyond the deadline and risk seeing him walk away from Atlanta in the summertime without compensation. In Orlando, Udrih already has a comfort level with coach Jacque Vaughn, who was his teammate in 2006-07 with the San Antonio Spurs. "I've been here three days, and I've already felt more at home than I did in Milwaukee for a year and a half," Udrih said Monday. "It was just a bad situation there. I'm a professional and I'm a man, so I like to be told straight-up what they expect from me. So, in Milwaukee, that never happened. They were saying, 'Yeah, yeah, we know. We've got to play you a little bit more.' But it never happened. So when I did get into the game I didn't know what they actually wanted to do, so I was just trying to find it myself, and I never did." "I wanted a change. I wanted a new start, so I'm really happy to be here. I know Jacque and J.B. [James Borrego], the assistant coach. It's just a really exciting moment for me and my wife." Orlando Sentinel

At the time of the trade, he was perplexed to read that he was past his prime. "Yeah, I'm a vet if you look at the team we have here," Udrih said. "I'm 30 years old, but I still feel fine. I take care of my body. I'm still only 30. It's not like I'm 34 or 36 or that age. I can still do a lot on the court. We'll see. I really feel comfortable in the sets we have on offense and defense, so I'm going to be fine out there." Orlando Sentinel

Some NBA players dread the idea of being traded. It’s an abrupt and somewhat unexpected process that requires you to uproot your life and your family. It often happens mid-stream. Being traded is an unsettling process. For Magic guard Beno Udrih, his trade deadline deal from Milwaukee to Orlando couldn’t have been more welcomed. Udrih had wanted out of Milwaukee from almost the day he arrived. He clashed with former Bucks head coach Scott Skiles. He rarely played and the fit with the Bucks was forced to say the least. Udrih was viewed as a throw-in in the Magic’s trade with Milwaukee. However, the 30-year Udrih doesn’t view Orlando as a pit stop, rather he hopes he can carve out a role with the Magic. Udrih has a history with Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn, who he played with in San Antonio, and with Magic General Manager Rob Hennigan, who played a role in his drafting by the Spurs, something he says makes this change easier. Source: Atlanta Hawks blow up deal at last minute that would've sent Josh Smith to Milwaukee. Hawks would've re-ceived Ekpe Udoh, Luc Mbah-Moute, Beno Udrih and a protected No. 1 pick. Can't imagine the Bucks are happy having invested so much time in trying to make it happen. Leaves big question now if Hawks can do better this summer. Sulia

With the prospect of losing guard J.J. Redick to free agency this summer the Orlando Magic traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Bucks sent the Magic Doron Lamb, Tobias Harris and Beno Udrih for Redick. Gustavo Ayon and Ish Smith were sent to Milwaukee as part of deal for Redick. Yahoo! Sports

Sam Amick: Been told Brooklyn is not currently progressing with anything. Mavs waiting on Bucks/J-Smith situation to try to try & land Beno Udrih. Twitter @sam_amick

Backup point guard Beno Udrih will miss the Bucks' game against Memphis on Wednesday night due to a right thigh injury. Bucks coach Scott Skiles said Udrih collided with Ersan Ilyasova on a play during Monday's practice. It's not certain how long Udrih will be out of the lineup. Udrih played well off the bench in the Bucks' two victories last weekend. He had 10 points and five assists on Boston against Friday and contributed 11 points and five assists against Cleveland on Saturday. "It means Doron (Lamb) may play more and Marquis (Daniels) may play more," Skiles said. "Memphis is a very good club and we're going to need to play well, anyway. "But Brandon (Jennings) and Monta (Ellis) may play more minutes even. We'll see how it goes." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
