On development, King reiterated the Nets intention to sign Bojan Bogdanovic, saying he is the kind of player the Nets will need to bring in, with their tight salary cap. "Bojan is someone who's had big games. He can shoot the three, has good size, is very physical so the goal is to get him over here this year," King said. "He has an NBA buyout so the object is to exercise it and give him the money and get him to come over. I think he wants to come over." He added nothing can happen until free agency begins in July. A source with direct knowledge of the situation told SNY.tv on Thursday afternoon that there is a ’90-95 percent chance’ that the 6-foot-8 swingman makes his NBA debut in Brooklyn in 2013-14. “Billy loves him,” the source said. “I would call it a 90-95 percent chance he is with the Nets next season. This time last year, it was probably 50-50.” SNY Nets

The Nets track all his games, blowouts or not, watching video and not just highlight packages. Billy King has personally scouted him and met with him. Still, It's not a guarantee that the Nets roster will include the 6'8" Bojan Bogdanovic next season. He has an "NBA out" this July on this three-year contract that will permit him to sign with Brooklyn. He hasn't said much about this recently but at the beginning of the season, he told a Turkish paper that he'd like to play, but...only if he's going to contribute. Whether I'm with the Nets will depend on how I play and what the results of my club will be. I'm not that crazy about the NBA league, but I'd like to try it. I feel that I can play in the NBA, but I do not want to go sit there and be satisfied with the fact that I was there. NetsDaily

Fenerbahce Ulker of Istanbul has received clearance to sign Ilkan Karaman, the Nets' 2012 second round pick, to a three-year contract, giving the Turkish League team two Nets picks at the forward spots. Bojan Bogdanovic, the Nets 2011 pick, plays small forward while Karaman, 6'10" and 255, plays PF. According to some reports, Karaman will have the right to opt out of his deal next July and sign with the Nets. Others suggest his "out" won't come until 2014. Bogdanovic has an "out" this July. Under terms of the CBA, the Nets can contribute more than a half-million dollars to each of the players' buyout packages. There's no limit on how many international contracts an NBA team can buy out. With just seven players committed to contracts for next season, the Nets have plenty of work to do to round out the roster for their first year in Brooklyn. One player who is unlikely to find his way onto the roster, however, is Bojan Bogdanovic, last year’s second-round pick. Though the Nets are high on his talent, contractual issues likely will keep him playing for Fenerbahce, one of Turkey’s top clubs, for at least another season. “It would be difficult,” Bogdanovic's agent, Marc Cornstein, told The Post yesterday. “I wouldn’t say 100 percent, but in all likelihood he’ll be playing in Turkey next season.” New York Post

The Nets also have been linked to Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic, who has bought out his contract with his Spanish league team and said he would like to play in the NBA, either for the Nets or the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nets GM Billy King also said it is a possibility that Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic, whom the Nets took with the first pick of the second round of the 2011 draft, might be ready to come over to the NBA this season.
