Ira Winderman: The wisdom of Brandon Jennings, "I'm real confident. I'm sure everybody is writing us off but but I see us winning the series in six." Twitter @IraHeatBeat Milwaukee guard Brandon Jennings attended the Wisconsin Sports Awards Thursday night at the Harley-Davidson museum to accept an award for his work in community outreach programs. He was only asked three questions, but he sure made the most of them. He also made a very bold prediction: "I'm real confident. I'm sure everybody is writing us off but but I see us winning the series in six." Maybe after noticing that everyone in the room had their eyebrows raised, Jennings smiled. "There's no pressure on us!" Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel |

Brandon Jennings says Bucks match up well with Heat and could maybe "steal one'' by winning 1st round series: "Just for us, personally we know everybody is going to be watching the Miami Heat because they’re the champs from last year,’’ guard Brandon Jennings said before his Bucks faced the Heat on Tuesday at AmericanAirlines Arena. “So there will be more pressure on them than us. So maybe we can probably steal one hopefully.’’ Sulia |

![]() Bucks guard Brandon Jennings said a few weeks ago he thought the Bucks match up well against the Heat, even though Miami is the runaway leader in the Eastern Conference. The Heat can tie a franchise record by posting its 61st victory Tuesday night. "That's OK," James said. "If they feel that way, they have us in the first round. We'll see how well we match up. "It's OK to think that way and you can believe that way. They should though. We're all NBA players for a reason. Teams are put together for a reason to go out and play. I'm not here to take shots at anyone. That's not what we do as a team. We just go about our business and whoever we have in the first round, we'll be ready for them." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Chris Tomasson: Brandon Jennings: "I think LeBron is probably going to get his fourth MVP.'' Twitter @christomasson |

![]() When you're unhappy with a decision your coach made, there are better ways to handle it than calling him out on Twitter. That didn't stop Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings from taking to social media to question a late-game timeout called by coach Jim Boylan in the Bucks' 109-99 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jennings deleted the tweet shortly after posting. Brandon Jennings: Took a Timeout with 29sec down 10pts. Didn't know it was 10pts plays!!! USA Today Sports |

![]() Jennings was held scoreless for the first time in 281 career NBA games as he went 0 for 3 in 17 minutes. Monta Ellis shifted over from shooting guard and played the point the rest of the way. "This is the third time I've been benched in the second half and it hasn't been under (former coach Scott) Skiles," Jennings said after the game. "You always want to be out there to help your team. "I don't see any all-stars in this locker room so I think everybody should be held accountable, like anybody else. There's no maxed-out players in this locker room; there's no all-stars. So don't try to put me on a pedestal and just give everybody else the freedom to do whatever they want." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Jennings said he feels he is being singled out. "Of course," he said. "This is the third time this has happened. We had a sluggish start but we still had a chance to win it. It was there for us to take." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel |

Bucks guard Brandon Jennings made a rather startling observation after practice Friday. While he wants the Bucks to move up in the playoff seedings if possible, he said it's OK with him to face the top-seeded Miami Heat in the first round. That's the Heat, as in the streaking team that has won 16 straight games entering a home game against Philadelphia on Friday. "The two games that we played Miami so far, we matched up well against them," Jennings said. "If you ask me, that's who I would want to play first round, Miami. "Just the fact over the years, a lot of the games have gone down to the wire with us and Miami. Right now we haven't really played well against the Knicks. I just feel better if we play Miami first round, just the fact we have good games against them. "I don't know if it's because they're the champs or what, but we always play harder against Miami." ![]() Point guard Brandon Jennings, a soon-to-be restricted free agent, says if he signs a one-year qualifying offer with Milwaukee this offseason, expect his days with the Bucks to be limited to one season. "If I take the qualifying offer and become an [unrestricted] free agent there is no way I am coming back," Jennings told Yahoo! Sports on Friday after practice. "There is no way." Yahoo! Sports Jennings considers Milwaukee a "great sports town" and has enjoyed his time there, but in order to keep him long term, Jennings said the Bucks' offer must be lucrative and there needs to be changes in the roster and the organization to make it championship caliber. Yahoo! Sports "It's not unfair to make that statement if he feels there is not a deal fair to him this summer," Bucks general manager John Hammond said of Jennings' stance. "I would be surprised if it happens. But he is operating within the [collective bargaining] rules. I'm not taken aback. It's a natural discussion to have." Yahoo! Sports Jennings plays in one of the NBA's smallest markets and is rarely seen on national television. The Los Angeles native admits that a bigger market is attractive but his preference is to play for a title contender, regardless of a city's size. Jennings noted that the Oklahoma City Thunder play in a small market, but made it the NBA Finals last season and are frequently on national television. Yahoo! Sports ![]() That'll be the summertime decision facing J.J. Redick, Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings. The three-guard rotation has been making noise lately, connecting quickly together for the Bucks. They've each found a way to bond peacefully and elevate the Bucks into playoff territory in the East. They also share something else in common: They can walk in July as free agents. They can enhance the perception of Milwaukee as a nice place to make your name but no place to stay and waste your fame. "It's a tricky situation for us," said John Hammond, the general manager. "It's something we're going to have to work our way through. We'll address it when the time comes and hopefully we'll have some good results." SportsonEarth So it's up to Redick, Ellis and Jennings to make Milwaukee a destination, and also up to Kohl. He almost sold the Bucks to Michael Jordan five years ago. Maybe Kohl's biggest sell is convincing big-name free agents to consider the Bucks. Will any take Kohl's money? They haven't yet. Would you? We'll see in the next few summers. "We have flexibility," Hammond said. "We're not going to have any tax implications. We feel comfortable where we're at. Senator Kohl will do what's necessary to win games." SportsonEarth |

![]() Bucks guard Brandon Jennings said he wasn't stunned by coach Jim Boylan's decision to take him out of the lineup for the final 3 minutes Tuesday night. Boylan removed Jennings and inserted guard J.J. Redick for the final 3:02 of the Bucks' 95-90 road victory over the Dallas Mavericks. "No, I mean guys had it going," Jennings said. "When guys have it going like that, they get a chance to stay in the game. "I guess you just have to roll with it. Now whoever has it going, you know who is going to stay in and who's not. Hey, it just is what it is." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Donatas Motiejunas, a 7-foot Lithuanian, will make his first NBA start at power forward. Rockets coach Kevin McHale also said newcomers Thomas Robinson, the rookie from Kansas, and Francisco Garcia will make their Houston debuts against the Bucks. "Everybody knows what Carlos can do," Jennings said. "He will shoot it; he can defend. He was a hell of a player when he was here with us and I really loved playing with him. "Now he's in Houston and he's doing his thing. He's actually having a great year." Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel |
