Parsons confirmed his intention to sign with Fegan after this article was originally published. At this point, there is no indication that the addition of Parsons to Relativity Sports’ client list will have any influence on Howard’s decision making process. Forbes.com |

But Fegan, one of the NBA’s most powerful agents, was still furious over what Falk said about his client late Wednesday night and called to address the situation. “David Falk’s rant about John Wall was uneducated, unsophisticated and immature. It proved the adage that one can grow old without ever growing up,” Fegan said. “I’m relieved David had the sense to apologize for his remarks but that doesn’t change the fact that he publicly disparaged a classy young man and a great young player. I have no further comment on what David said.” Washington Post Stephen A. Smith: "So my point is that when Dwight Howard opted in, he did it behind Fegan's back. Fegan had nothing to do with that." RR: "Oh yeah, yeah, I know." SAS: "So, if you could do it behind your agent's back once, you're very unpredictable...." NetsDaily |

Relativity Sports continues to build its talent representation business by bringing on prominent NBA agent Dan Fegan to lead its basketball division. Fegan will bring his 40 NBA clients, who include Dwight Howard, Shawn Marion and John Wall, to the firm and serve as president of the division. He will work out of Relativity’s Beverly Hills, Calif., offices and report to the company’s COO and head of its sports group, Happy Walters, who represents 12 NBA players. Sports Business Daily Walters said adding Fegan was a key move, not just because of his client list, but because of additional areas where he can add value to the group. “Dan has had No. 1 draft picks; he’s done all the negotiating you can do, but Dan is ready to help build a business and that is what we are excited about,” Walters said. “That is what we want to put together here. A lot of smart guys who have a lot of experience looking at how we want to grow sports in the future. What intangibles are we going to be able to identify and monetize and grow businesses around in the future?” Sports Business Daily Liz Mullen: SBJ: Powerful NBA agent Dan Fegan joins Relativity Sports as President, Basketball. The Delonte West saga has taken another detour. Who knows where it goes from here? West, the colorful journeyman guard who has been out of basketball since his detrimental conduct caused the Mavericks to release him just before the season opened, has left the D-League’s Texas Legends in limbo. The Legends claimed West on Jan. 25 after he put his name in the D-League player pool, but he has yet to report to Frisco. A source said it’s up to West whether he will play for the Legends, who are still open to having him on the team and continue to list him on the roster on the team’s website. West has complicated the process by parting ways with agent Dan Fegan. ESPN.com |

![]() A league source said that West might be in the process of dumping agent Dan Fegan and that could be complicating him joining the Legends. There was some speculation that another NBA team could be kicking his tires, but that has gone unsubstantiated. Wherever Delonte is and whatever he is doing, he'd be wise to report to a basketball court -- NBA or otherwise -- sooner rather than later. Sulia |

Then there is Cousins firing his agent, John Greig and deciding to be represented by Dan Fegan. This is a complete change in thinking by Cousins. His reasoning for going with Greig had been he didn't want to be another client of another big-name agent. Sacramento Bee ![]() Jason Jones: DeMarcus Cousins has also fired his agent John Greig to go with Dan Fegan. Twitter @mr_jasonjones Fegan is one of the most powerful agents in the NBA, and his most recent high-profile situation is the very sort of scenario the Kings – and every other team, for that matter – would like to avoid. Fegan was instrumental in Dwight Howard's exodus from Orlando to the Lakers last summer, having presented the Magic with a list of teams (Brooklyn, Dallas, and the Lakers) to which Howard was willing to re-sign if traded. Fegan's last extensive dealings with the Kings were in 2009, and they were far from positive for either side. USA Today |

![]() Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries has signed with agent Arn Tellem of Wasserman Media Group, which now represents three-fifths of the team’s starting lineup. Humphries, who signed a two-year, $24 million contract during the offseason, had been represented by agent Dan Fegan, who couldn’t immediately be reached to comment on the change. Bloomberg |

Sports Agent Blog has learned, through those sources, that Fegan is likely to become a part of the newly created Relativity Sports, a basketball, football and baseball agency led by Happy Walters. In an industry where very few agents allow themselves to develop relationships with their competition, Fegan and Walters have managed to find a way to remain friends throughout their respective careers. Sports Agent Blog Fegan represents Dwight Howard, John Wall, Ricky Rubio, Stephen Jackson, Shawn Marion, Nene, Kevin Martin, and many other high-end NBA players. Walters’ biggest client is Amare Stoudemire, but he also represents guys like Iman Shumpert and Moe Harkless. According to HoopsHype.com, combining Fegan’s clients’ salaries with Walters’ clients’ salaries would result in a total of $179,455,308 under representation, putting the combo in the #4 overall spot just behind Creative Artists Agency (which may see its position change based on the recent NBPA certification of Rich Paul). Powerful NBA player agent Dan Fegan has left Lagardère Unlimited, which acquired his basketball player representation practice two years ago when it bought the former Blue Entertainment Sports Television. “I can confirm I am no longer with Lagardère Unlimited,” Fegan said last week. But he also noted that, “We are currently engaged in active discussions.” Sports Business Daily One source said there was a possibility that Fegan could go back to Lagardère, but multiple sources said that was unlikely. Sports Business Daily It was unknown at press time what players, or agents, if any, might leave Lagardère with Fegan. Star athlete clients generally stay with the agent with whom they have a relationship. Sources said Lagardère, which is owned by Paris-based conglomerate Lagardère Group, intends to continue to be active in the basketball player rep business. Sports Business Daily David Bauman, a veteran NBA player agent who represents Metta World Peace and Andrew Bogut and is executive vice president of Lagardère’s basketball practice, was still at the company last week, although sources said he had a “key man clause” tied to Fegan’s contract. Under such a clause, an employee may leave the company if a “key man,” in this case Fegan, leaves. Bauman declined to comment. Sports Business Daily |
