Warriors forward David Lee will not be available to play this weekend at Houston and Phoenix after aggravating his strained left hamstring Wednesday, according to coach Steve Kerr. Lee is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam Thursday afternoon and could miss even more time after his first game back from the strain Wednesday night lasted only seven minutes before he had to return to the locker room. Lee said he originally suffered the injury during the Oct. 24 preseason finale while getting in some conditioning late in the game, and he needed 11 days before he could make his season debut. "We probably have to be a little more cautious this time," Kerr said of a timeline for Lee's return. San Jose Mercury-News

Warriors forward David Lee heard the offseason trade rumors involving Kevin Love and said they didn't leave him feeling unwanted by the team. "There was no hard feelings," Lee said Monday. "There can't be. Our front office is trying to improve the team, and Kevin Love is a great player. "It happened, and I'm not mad at anybody. I don't feel bad. It's just this is a business." The Warriors not only dangled both him and Lee in talks with the Timberwolves, league and team sources say, but they apparently initiated the conversation. Various reports on the deal's likelihood of going down bubbled for several weeks, and while GM Bob Myers declined to address the subject directly, he certainly didn't discourage the notion that Thompson and Lee were available for the right price. Myers' attempt to be as honest as possible is appreciated, but it has come with a price. While attempts to reach Lee or his representatives were unsuccessful, a source close to Thompson said the shooting guard is "pissed" that the Warriors legitimately considered moving him. Bleacher Report

Eventually, they passed on everything because there wasn't a strong consensus in the organization that they'd definitively be better. And when it became clear that Love would be headed to Cleveland instead of a Western Conference rival, such as the Houston Rockets, it made the need to roll the dice even less enticing. Sources told ESPN.com that Wolves owner Glen Taylor and Warriors counterpart Joe Lacob have maintained a level of dialogue on a potential trade of Love to Golden State, which sources insist would have been clinched by now had the Warriors -- at the behest of new coach Steve Kerr -- relented on their refusal to part with Thompson. The Warriors have been unwilling to offer the Timberwolves more than a combination of former All-Star forward David Lee and 2012 lottery pick Harrison Barnes -- likely packaged with a future first-round pick -- in exchange for Love and swingman Kevin Martin, according to sources.
