For those growing tired of players flopping in the NBA, don’t expect any changes next season. At least not according to Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, who is a member of the NBA’s Competition Committee. “The competition committee met this week and a lot of progress has been made this past year and in the playoffs with the rule decreasing the amount of flops and attempted flops,’’ Carlisle said Saturday. “I believe we’re going to stay the course with the rule basically the way it is, and just continue to work to clean it up. “And as time goes on, if it needs to be addressed again, it’ll be addressed again.’’ Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Ricky Rubio received a warning for violating the league’s anti-flopping rule, the league announced on Saturday. The violation came with 46 seconds remaining in Minnesota’s home win over the Thunder on March 29th, and honestly, it’s one of the weaker ones the league has seen as fit to punish. Rubio appears to take contact to the head from the shoulder of Kevin Durant on the drive, and while the helicopter spin to the ground may have been exaggerated, the contact was made nonetheless, and the referees weren’t fooled into calling a bogus foul by Rubio’s actions. Barea was not surprised Nets guard C.J. Watson was warned for violating the NBA's anti-flopping rules after Wednesday's game. It came in the fourth quarter, when Watson fell to the floor after a slight bump from Barea. "He's a flopping guy, so I tried to give him a taste of his own medicine," Watson told the Nets' postgame television broadcast. "I hope I don't get fined, though." Because it was a first offense, Watson was warned. "It was a great defensive play," Barea said. "And the refs, they called the charge. But I knew he was going to get a warning after that one.'' Nets guard C.J. Watson was warned by the NBA for flopping Thursday for a play in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s win at Minnesota. The warning comes as no surprise after Watson all but admitted to flopping to draw an offensive foul on serial offender J.J. Barea with nine minutes to go in the fourth of what became a 91-83 Nets win. ”J.J. Barea’s a flopping guy, so I tried to give him a taste of his own medicine,” Watson told the YES Network in a postgame interview. “I hope I don’t get fined, though.” New York Post

All-Star point guard Tony Parker became the first Spurs player chastised under the NBA’s new anti-flopping policy, receiving an official warning for what the league deemed an acting job in the first half of Friday’s 122-116 win over Houston. On the play in question, which can be viewed here, Parker is elevating for a defensive rebound when Rockets guard Toney Douglas extends his hand toward Parker’s back. Parker goes sprawling to the ground on the baseline, and no foul is whistled. San Antonio Express-News
