Will we see you in the French National Team next year? Ian Mahinmi: Well, it's my fault, I haven't called Vincent Collet back. He called me like twice three weeks ago. For now I'm not really focusing on the French National Team, we have the playoffs. But, well, it's my turn to call him back, you can write that down. We'll see, I don't feel like making a statement now. Sport24 We feel like there's a problem...what is it? Ian Mahinmi: No, I think that... (he hesitates). There were some things, actions that I did not particularly like but, all in all, I think this is a little communication problem. I would not want to digress at large about it but there was a lack of communication. We must have a conversation, I can't tell you much right now. Sport24 |

The fifth year center, who spent the previous two seasons in Dallas, acknowledged he knew his time with the Mavericks had come to an end before free agency began. Although Mahinmi was moving on, he remains happy his former club received value in return in the deal based on how the organization treated him with respect over the past two years. “I was going to come to Indiana regardless,” Mahinmi said to HOOPSWORLD on his free agency plans. “So I’m just happy we were able to make [the trade] work that way. I think it worked good for both teams and I’m thankful for everything Dallas did for me the last two years. I’m happy we worked a good deal for both sides.” As part of the deal, Mahinmi signed a four-year $16 million contract with the Pacers. HoopsWorld |

![]() Paris, we have a problem. The French National Team who will play the Olympic Games in London in the summer, lost two important pieces in the last hours: Rodrigue Beaubois and Ian Mahinmi. It's tempting to say that NBA players get the summer off, but in most cases they treat it just as seriously as the regular season. Yes, their schedules might not be quite so rigid and demanding, but they still spend hours every day staying in shape, rehabbing injuries, and improving their games. It's not as if they spend three months doing nothing but going to beautiful island resorts and eating whatever they want. Still, they do have quite a bit more time to kick back and relax. For proof, see the photo above of Dallas Mavericks center Ian Mahinmi and his family at the restaurant chain Medieval Times. In case you've never been there, it's a theme restaurant at which knights joust, patrons eat chicken with their hands, and serving wenches refill goblets of Pepsi. So, naturally, the Mahinmis got into the spirit of things and dressed up in period robes and dresses. Yahoo! Sports |

Bet you never thought you’d watch a video where Ian Mahinmi walks around in a plush hotel robe. And then think it was pretty cool. The Mavericks big man from France is a bit of a hipster, plus has a good sense of humor about himself. Or so we learned from this video, which he put on YouTube. He teamed up with French production company One Million Dollar Film to make this, and it is oddly awesome. And a real introduction to that guy we’ve started to notice can play a little center this year. NBCSports.com |

Haywood and Mahinmi are combining to average 13.6 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, numbers that aren’t far off those produced by the Chandler-Haywood duo last season. “We have a good tag team just because we offer two contrasting styles of basketball,” said Haywood, who had 10 points and six rebounds in 19 minutes against the Suns. “We’re both confident in what we can do. It’s worked out pretty well for us so far. Hopefully, we can keep it going.” Haywood is the traditional paint-protecting, glass-cleaning big man. Mahinmi, who had 17 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in 29 minutes off the bench against the Suns, is more athletic and has more finesse to his game. “It’s Super Bowl time. It’s like the Giants,” said Haywood, the biggest football fan in the Mavs’ locker room. “You’ve got Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. Guess which one I am.” ESPN.com |

Ian Mahinmi couldn't tell a lie, not through that beaming smile he couldn't. "I won’t lie to you guys, I’ve probably watched it about 100 times," Mahinmi said of the pretty fallaway he sank at the end of the first half of Game 6 of the NBA Finals. "Yeah, great memories." ESPN.com Mahinmi is ready to create more memories and possibly as the Dallas Mavericks' backup center. With Tyson Chandler's return uncertain, Brendan Haywood would stand to take over as the starter with the 6-foot-11 Frenchman possibly ascending from third string to a legitimate backup for the first time in his career. "It’s going to be my second year [in Dallas], I’m more familiar with the system, what the coach wants from me and all of that, and I think I’m ready to grow into a bigger role," Mahinmi said Monday prior to working out for the first time with a handful of teammates back at the American Airlines Center. "Hopefully Tyson’s back, but I’m really ready to be whatever coach wants me to be." ESPN.com |
