Jeff Weltman, who was a finalist for the Phoenix GM job that went to Ryan McDonough, is now with Toronto and is expected to get a call, league sources say. His father, Harry Weltman, was GM of the Cavs in the 1980s. David Morway was part of the front office that built the Pacers into an Eastern Conference power. Now in Milwaukee, Morway has been a candidate for several GM positions. CBSSports.com

While Jeff Weltman is still the Bucks assistant general manager, he is expected to take on a similar job for the Toronto Raptors this summer, perhaps as soon as the beginning of next month. Dave Babcock, a long-time Bucks official who is the team’s scouting director, would appear to be a serious candidate to replace Weltman. Racine Journal-Times

The Suns’ decision for their next general manager could come down to two men – Jeff Weltman and Ryan McDonough. Weltman, Milwaukee‘s assistant general manager, has been seen as a favorite since the beginning of the process, particularly after coming close to getting the job in 2010 when Lance Blanks was picked. The Suns’ search for their next general manager continues with Milwaukee assistant GM Jeff Weltman remaining the favorite, according to industry insiders. Weltman, former Indiana GM David Morway, San Antonio assistant GM and former Utah and New York executive Scott Layden and Boston 33-year-old assistant GM Ryan McDonough have been interviewed in Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby’s process.
