The Rockets drafted Parsons with the 38th pick in 2012 and signed him to a four-year that guaranteed Houston could keep him with a salary under $1 million in each of those four seasons. It wasn’t the first four-year deal for a second-round pick, but as Parsons emerged into a well-rounded NBA starter, it quickly became the most famous-slash-infamous of such deals. Cap experts and union officials estimate that about a half-dozen second-round picks have received four-year deals in the last half-decade, and Houston helped pioneer the process before Parsons in deals for Chase Budinger, Joey Dorsey, and Jermaine Taylor. (The Spurs also did this with DeJuan Blair, as did the Kings with Hassan Whiteside.) ESPN.com

Had you not answered, you think that now you would have had at least an invitation to take part in a training camp with an NBA team; Joey Dorsey: “It would not be just an invitation, it would be a contract. I had a contract for the Boston Celtics and for the New Orleans Hornets. It was just, I don’t know man, my feeling here it was just crazy last year. I fell in love with the team., I fell in love with the city of Athens and the fans here are so passionate about basketball. I just wanted to work more on my game. I think these were the biggest factors”. EuroHoops.net

You think that with your defensive abilities, you would fit well into the defensive style of coach Williams in New Orleans? Joey Dorsey: “Yes, that was one of the things that we talked about. With Anthony Davis being the No1 pick and bringing him in, I was gonna be that guy. That defender that would protect the paint”. EuroHoops.net

Joey Dorsey released some stataments after Olympiacos win against Montepaschi Siena in the Euroleague Playoffs. The Greek team advanced to the Euroleague Final Four in Istanbul. Former NBA big man said that is priority next summer is Olympiacos adding that he is having contacts with NBA teams as the Rockets who will likely make him an offer. "I like being here, i feel i belong in Olympiacos, i love the team. It would be nice to continue here. I have talked about it with the most important person in my life, my mother. There are several NBA teams that are already interested in me and watched me live. But I feel my priority is olympiacos. I am a sentimental guy. I will talk with olympiacos before anyone else. In Toronto I used to play 13-14 minutes per game, here I feel I am much more important for the team. Lately Rockets came to see me. They believe in me and they show it. We talk a lot and I think in the summer they will make me an offer" said Dorsey. Sportando
