Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has signed guard John Lucas. In six seasons with Houston, Chicago, Toronto and Utah, Lucas has appeared in 216 career regular season games (eight starts) while averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 assists in 12.2 minutes. Last season, Lucas appeared in 42 games with Utah and averaged 3.8 points and 1.0 assists in 14.1 minutes. NBA.com

The Washington Wizards, looking for a trusted veteran to add to their guard depth, are on the verge of signing John Lucas III, NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday. Sources told ESPN.com that the Wizards are in the process of bringing the 31-year-old Lucas to Washington after losing star guard Bradley Beal to a wrist injury that's expected to sideline him for at least six weeks.‎ ESPN.com

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired guard Keith Bogans and the rights to Sacramento’s 2015 and 2017 second round picks (both top-55 protected) from the Boston Celtics in exchange for guard John Lucas III and forwards Erik Murphy, Dwight Powell and Malcolm Thomas, along with the Cavs 2016 and 2017 second round picks General Manager David Griffin announced tonight from Cleveland Clinic Courts.
