Trudell: With your recovery, what can we expect from these coming months before summer league? Randle: I’ve been doing a little bit of contact stuff; not crazy but just a little bit. For a timetable, I don’t know. I have no clue. I think I go to the doctor in May, and we’ll see. Hopefully I just get cleared all the way there. Honestly, I’m just taking it day by day. The x-rays and stuff look good. We just kind of want to take it slow. It’s more of how my body is feeling and how I’m reacting to things more than a timetable. NBA.com

The Lakers cleared Randle last week to rehab his leg in weight-bearing exercises. He also has completed light shooting sessions. Scott said Randle also will travel with the Lakers next week, including stops in Oklahoma City (March 24), Minnesota (March 25), Toronto (March 27), Brooklyn (March 29) and Philadelphia (March 30). “You could see he was a pretty sharp kid, had a good basketball IQ, picked things up quickly and asked very good questions,” Scott said of Randle during training camp. “I don’t think the learning curve will take a long time. It’s just a matter of getting back into the swing of things.” Los Angeles Daily News

What Nash has accomplished is working recently with fast-improving Lakers rookie guard Jordan Clarkson. The film work, on-court tutelage and timely text messages have been priceless, Clarkson said. Nash also intends to link up with Julius Randle, now on the practice court after breaking his leg on opening night, to tutor the current cornerstone of the Lakers' rebuild also. Bleacher Report

A mark of the sign of the Lakers’ current demise that coach Byron Scott suddenly looked ahead to the team’s summer league squad in mid-February. But Scott revealed something far more notable than anything surrounding when the Lakers (13-41) host the Boston Celtics (20-32) at Staples Center. Scott said that Lakers rookie forward will “definitely” play on the Lakers’ 2015 Las Vegas Summer League team. Los Angeles Daily News

The Lakers are interested in acquiring Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic, who has recently made it clear he will not re-sign with the Phoenix Suns. Dragic also said in an interview with Los Angeles Newspaper Group last month that the Lakers are one of the teams he will consider after he opts out of his $7.9 million player option to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. But the prospect of making such a deal seems daunting for the Lakers. Under no circumstances, would the Lakers make that draft pick unprotected to land Dragic, let alone any star player. The Lakers are also reluctant to ship Lakers rookies Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle in any trade because of their potential. Los Angeles Daily News
