Since Jackson’s departure, Murphy is averaging 33.2 points per game on 52 percent shooting. The Stampede rattled off three straight wins before losing back-to-back games to the Santa Cruz Warriors. “Me, Pierre, and Dee Bost had a good relationship on and off the court so we played really good together,” said Murphy. “Now with him gone, I think me and Dee Bost have stepped up pretty good to show teams that we can play the game of basketball. Everybody’s just trying to get an opportunity.” RealGM

At this point, Murphy has done basically all he can do to earn a 10-day contract in the NBA. He hopes to continue winning in Boise for the time being, but the obvious goal is to earn another chance in the NBA. “Right now it’s just a waiting game basically, just waiting for the call,” said Murphy. “All I need is one team to like me. I’m just trying to wait for the opportunity.” RealGM

Entering the weekend, an NBA D-League team source told DLeagueDigest.com that Kevin Murphy might be the next NBA Call-Up from the Idaho Stampede. After dropping 85 points against the Los Angeles D-Fenders this weekend, perhaps Murphy is NBA Call-Up worthy? Murphy is no stranger to the NBA D-League, before joining the Idaho Stampede this season, Murphy played in 11 games with the Reno Bighorns on assignment from the Utah Jazz last year. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists with the Bighorns. In 11 games for the Stampede, Murphy has averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists in 32.2 minutes. D-League Digest

In the trade, the Jazz will receive veterans Biedrins, Jefferson and Rush from Golden State in addition to two future unprotected first-round picks (2014 and 2017) and two future second-round picks (2016 and 2017) from the Warriors, a future second-round pick from the Nuggets (2018), and cash considerations. As part of the deal, the Jazz re-signed free agent guard Randy Foye and traded him to Denver, and sent guard Kevin Murphy to Golden State. Golden State also receives guard Andre Iguodala from Denver (via a sign-and-trade agreement) while sending the Nuggets a future second-round pick (2018). NBA.com

The Warriors had planned to sign Iguodala to a four-year, $48 million deal as a free agent last week, sources told ESPN. Instead, the restructured deal will give Golden State more salary cap flexibility, deliver Denver a $9 million trade exception and help Utah build for the future with expiring contracts and draft picks. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press on Monday because teams are not allowed to confirm moves until the new league year begins Wednesday, says the original Warriors-Jazz deal remains intact. The Warriors will clear more than $24 million by sending Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush to the Jazz along with the package of draft picks. All three players are in the last year of their contracts. Golden State is only taking back Kevin Murphy and his non-guaranteed $788,000 deal from Utah. ESPN.com
