Several general managers and executives told SheridanHoops they believe Khris Middleton, who has become a go-to guy for the playoff-bound Milwaukee Bucks, is worth $10 million annually and can get roughly a four-year, $40 million offer this summer as a restricted free agent. “I would love to be here,” Middleton told SheridanHoops on Friday. “As an NBA player, you don’t want to be someone that’s bouncing around from team to team. I would love to be here, but at the same time I’ve got to keep my options open.” SheridanHoops

You keep saying you haven’t thought about your free agency. Come on, admit you have! Khris Middleton: No, seriously. I went out to eat with my agent last night [in New York], and he asked me if I wanted to talk about it. I said no. I wouldn’t talk about it with him, even. I just want to wait until the season’s over — focus on basketball and making the playoffs. Everything else will figure itself out. Grantland

Detroit Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko was treating the summer like he usually does. Hanging out at the practice facility Thursday morning, he was shooting around with teammates Khris Middleton and Kim English, informally. Then he realized it was time to get formal when new coach Maurice Cheeks walked in. “I had a couple flip-flops on, messing around and he told us, ‘When you’re in there, you’ve got to put in work,’ ” Jerebko said Thursday at the Palace following Cheeks’ introductory news conference. “He told us on Day 1 what he wanted, so I definitely respect that. ... I was encouraged. That’s what you want as a player, you want somebody to tell you what to do. I won’t be wearing my flip-flops out there no more.” Detroit Free Press
