The New York Knicks, by signing Louis Amundson to a 10-day contract Saturday, have just expanded the NBA’s all-time 10-team club to an even dozen. Amundson was promptly waived by the Knicks earlier this week after they acquired him from Cleveland as part of the three-team swap with Memphis and Oklahoma City headlined by J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and Dion Waiters. But by resigning him, New York has given Amundson the opportunity to join the following exclusive list Below are the only 12 players in league history to have played for at least 10 different teams: 12 teams: Chucky Brown, Jim Jackson, Tony Massenburg and Joe Smith. 11 teams: Mike James and Kevin Ollie. 10 teams: Lou Amundson, Earl Boykins, Mark Bryant, Drew Gooden, Damon Jones and Aaron Williams. New York Knickerbockers President Phil Jackson announced today that the team has signed forwards Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas to 10-day contracts. Both players were originally acquired as part of a three-team deal on Jan. 5, but then waived on Jan. 7. NBA.com

The Knicks may have as many as three open roster spots thanks to the trade. They acquired Alex Kirk, Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas in the deal. They are going to waive Amundson and Kirk and are considering waiving Thomas, league sources say. ESPN.com

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired guards Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith from the New York Knicks and a protected 2015 first round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder. In exchange, the Cavs will send guard Dion Waiters to the Thunder, and Lou Amundson, Alex Kirk and its own 2019 second round pick to the Knicks. New York will also receive forward Lance Thomas from Oklahoma City. NBA.com
