However, the Heat’s struggles have not made Deng want out. “I’ve had no issues,” he said. “My whole thing this year has been trying to get it right. It’s never been that I’m unhappy. Just because there are trade rumors– I’m not the one asking for a trade… I’m not the one starting the rumors or whatever’s going on. I know just as much as you, honestly.” Palm Beach Post

No deal is imminent, sources said, but it has become clear the Grizzlies are intent on upgrading their wing rotation. The teams behind third-place Memphis (25-10) in the Western Conference standings already have made notable in-season additions -- such as Dallas (Rajon Rondo) and Houston (Corey Brewer and Josh Smith) -- and Oklahoma City has yet to move into playoff position. Deng said before Sunday's game that it wasn't difficult for him watching his former team, and said that he "had to move on," but it was clear from all parties involved that Sunday's affair was a little different because of the circumstances. "I think it's always going to be strange for me facing the Bulls," Deng admitted. "Obviously because it's Chicago, but just the guys on the team. It's still really the same guys. You just got Boozer, Boozer's gone, now it's Gasol instead. But most of the guys it's still really the same faces. It's more than a game with those guys. So when I see them it's friends, it's family, it's guys that I've done a lot with. [They] know a lot about me, I know a lot about them." ESPN.com

Norris Cole and forward Luol Deng moved a step closer to returning to the court. Both were able to complete Saturday's practice, a day before the Heat faces the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum. "I'm feeling better, a lot better," Cole said. "I was able to go through more practice. I felt good. We'll see what happens (Sunday)." South Florida Sun-Sentinel
