Marco Belinelli: “My goal is to play Eurobasket. But I am 29 and I have to see how I physically feel after the season. I will make a final decision after the NBA Playoffs. Coach Pianigiani knows how I am, I am gritting my teeth. For the other Italians in the NBA who end the season without playoffs (Bargnani and Gallinari) will be easier to rest, recover and be back in shape. I will talk with the other Italians in the NBA. We want to bring Italy back to highest levels” said Belinelli to Riccardo Pratesi of La Gazzetta dello Sport. Sportando

Jeff: So about Marco’s nearly naked photo, what did you say to him? Danilo Gallinari: (laughing) It was a fun thing to do, he had a lot of fun. He was just saying it still looks ugly even though it was on a GQ cover. I was just kidding with him. I’m happy for him because when he plays basketball, he has a chance to have fun doing that kind of stuff. It was great. And hopefully they didn’t do a lot of Photoshop because his body looks pretty different. ProjectSpurs.com

The Spurs player spoke with Il Corriere dello Sport about his future and the summer with the Italian National Team. Marco Belinelli on Free agency: "My future is a big question mark. I am 29, I am not too young anymore and I am not hiding that the salary is important. I’d love to play for a high level team to have the chance to grow as a player. We’ll see this summer what happens. The NBA is so strange that it is impossible to say now if I’ll remain with the Spurs. We have to the wait the end of the season to know that". Sportando

Marco Belinelli on Eurobasket: "I spoke with Simone Pianigiani (head coach of the Italian National Team), the Federation knows my physical and contract situations. I’d love to play Eurobasket but I have to wait the end of the season to see how my situation evolves. I can’t say now “I will 100% play at Eurobasket." Sportando

Marco Belinelli said he thought Bucks guard Jerryd Bayless, having chirped at the Italian over the previous few trips in Wednesday’s game at BMO Harris Bradley Center, was about to do something. He just wasn’t expecting an intentional foul on a 3-point shot, a brutal miscue by Bayless — both for its execution and timing — that touched off a brief scrum near midcourt as the Spurs led by 10 early in the fourth quarter. “That was a really bad foul,” Belinelli said. “This was my first time that I get fouled like that. I know competition is part of the game, but that was really bad.” San Antonio Express-News
