If Racer was "actually coordinating its motion" with Belinelli's, then let's thank heaven that the robot only has one "hand" and doesn't know how to dance. I'm sure Comau wouldn't have wanted to deal with a $15,000 (or €11,982) fine just for making a commercial. The robot appears to have performed admirably enough in the shooting competition against Belinelli, who ranked fifth in the NBA in 3-point accuracy last season and has made five of his first eight 3-point tries for San Antonio thus far this season, but for me, Racer's most impressive feature was the ability to throw decent bounce passes. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich admitted he is getting antsy for a loss. He'll have to wait. Marco Belinelli scored 18 points and San Antonio never trailed after its opening possession, extending its winning streak to 17 games with a 96-80 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. The Spurs once again used fluid passing and tireless player movement to overwhelm an opponent. San Antonio finished with 24 assists while going 37 for 78 from the field in snapping New Orleans' five-game winning streak. "They move around a lot, and run their sets hard," Pelicans guard Brian Roberts said. "Whatever they're running, they are moving constantly. It puts pressure on a defense to play 24 seconds worth." More on Griffin on Thursday before practice told an inspirational story about working hard. “I’ve heard millions of Kobe (Bryant) stories about late-night workouts,” said Griffin, whose team takes on Detroit on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center. “One I heard, one time I guess he was in Italy and called Marco Belinelli (of the Spurs) at like 1, 2 o’clock in the morning and asked him if he had a gym for him, and so Marco found him one and he went there to shoot with him. “And he (Belinelli) was like, ‘I thought we were going to just get some shots up, but we had like a full workout.’ Things like that. That’s work ethic, real worth ethic. It’s not just coming in when you have to and going hard. It’s doing extra, going above and beyond.” Los Angeles Daily News
