Matt Barnes: I'd like to take a second to apologize to the #LACorganization, my #Teammates & #CoachingStaff & the #ClipFans.. For my actions. Not only on the court, but off.. I was completely wrong for pushing Ibaka & then for what I tweeted following the altercation. I've been doing this for to long to let my emotions get the best of me.. My poor choice of words & timing do not reflectwWho or what I am about.. It was very selfish on my part to make this situation about me instead of my teammates that fought their hearts out & earned a big win against a tough okc team.. Now I could have took the easy way out & said, "My twitter was hacked". But that's not what I'm about, I accept full responsibility for all my inappropriate action last night & I am truly sorry! Twitter

Barnes' teammates came to his defense after the Clippers' 111-103 win. "One of the best teammates I've ever had. Matt has a big heart. He goes out there and competes every night. Not scared of nothing," said Chris Paul, who hadn't seen the tweet. "We appreciate what Matt does for us, and he's a great teammate," Griffin said. "We've got his back, and he's got ours." ESPN.com

NBA veteran Matt Barnes offered his opinion on Twitter, saying he thought Muhammad getting kicked out of the program was “BS,” that a grown man should be able to have a woman in his room if he wants, that the story was blown out of proportion and Muhammad now will enter the league with a “bad wrap” before he has played a game. Barnes doesn’t get it. He attended the program. He got through it without issue. It’s not about the rule. It’s about perception, about showing an ability to conform with a group and work as a team and not always snub your nose at authority. Las Vegas Review Journal
