Pietrus played his first game Wednesday since Jan. 9 despite being fully healthy for a while now, and he’s adamant both his knees are strong and should help him last four to five more seasons in the NBA. “My body has stayed healthy so whenever the Raptors call my name, I’ll be ready to go,” Pietrus told RealGM in a recent phone conversation. “I have many years left playing in the NBA and I want to get better every day. I think 10 years went too quick. … I haven’t won a championship yet. I want to win two, three [championships] before I retire because I think I had a great run throughout those 10 years and my body is healthy now. “I’m feeling really healthy. The doctors really took care of me and my knees, so I’m feeling better than ever.” RealGM |

The term “videobombing” doesn’t really do Raptors swingman Mickael Pietrus justice in this clip. This is more like a video carpet bombing. As the Raptors prepared to play the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Wednesday — a game that they went on to lose 103-92 — Pietrus sneaked up behind the NBA TV Canada broadcast crew during a live shot and began dancing. That’s not a totally unusual sight, but things got interesting when Pietrus stuck with the gag. And stuck with it. And stuck with it. For nearly a half-minute, Pietrus bounced, laughed, boogied, shimmy-shaked, spun in circle, pumped his fist and even pulled out a few Uma Thurman moves from Pulp Fiction as Paul Jones and Sherman Hamilton tried to keep their composure. Could Pietrus be any more committed to his cameo here? Impossible. He hasn’t played since Jan. 9, though, so it’s no surprise that he has this much excess energy. SI.com |

Mickael Pietrus sat out Sunday afternoon’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with knee tendinitis, but the condition is not serious, agent Bill McCandless told RealGM. The tendinitis is in Pietrus’ left knee – not the right knee on which he had surgery over the offseason – McCandless said. Pietrus is day-to-day. Pietrus signed with the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 30 and has swiftly climbed the team’s depth chart, starting in three of his four games. He has averaged 10.8 points and three rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game as a Raptor. RealGM |
