Nando De Colo: "The worst is that it is one of the assistants that tells me that I'm in a suit as if it was normal, but it will be before anything happened. The morning of the game, I was leaving after the shoot around and he said "Nando, okay? Tonight you're in a suit." You say shit. You do not know what happened. You're in a new series. You wonder why you, and not another. It is not obvious at all. At first you think it is a game or two. Assistants tell you that things can change and, in fact, nothing changes. But that's coaching decisions. As it gets, there is not much to say." ProjectSpurs.com

In any event, Nando was clear, he does not have any regrets coming to the NBA desite being buried on the bench. "No. You do not know as you have not tried. Next year I'm under contract with San Antonio, and there is no reflection or having to say "I'm going back to Europe." I will continue to work. We'll see with the Spurs if something must be done after the playoffs or not. It's frustrating not to play but there is nothing more to think." ProjectSpurs.com

All-NBA point guard Tony Parker was still crowing Thursday about coaching the Spurs to their 101-99 victory over the visiting Hawks on Wednesday night. Popovich turned the team over to Parker — who had the night off — after he pestered his coach with advice after Atlanta made things close in the waning seconds. After the Hawks tied the score at 99, Parker drew up a play for rookie Nando De Colo, who nailed the winning jumper. “It’s easy to do Pop’s job,” Parker said. “He’s a little bit overpaid, I think. That’s just my opinion.” San Antonio Express-News

In just 14 minutes and 36 seconds of his first preseason game with the Spurs, rookie guard Nando De Colo established himself as a fan favorite Saturday with some of the slickest passing seen at the AT&T Center since Manu Ginobili’s rookie season 10 years ago. He also impressed some teammates. According to Stephen Jackson, De Colo is reminiscent of another fan favorite. “Nando,” Jackson said, “is another Manu Ginobili.” San Antonio Express-News

It's a tradition in the NBA for any rookie entering their first season in the league - hazing. Whether it be practical jokes, carrying a teammates' bags or worse, any rookie should expect to get the rookie treatment even if you have been a pro overseas like San Antonio Spurs' Nando De Colo. And as Nando enters his rookie season, what better player to get the rookie treatment going than his fellow countryman Tony Parker (via RMC Sport.fr). "Nando will be forced to get my hot chocolate and donuts for Tim Duncan!" ProjectSpurs.com

At the end of the game I could chat with combo guard Nando de Colo, who had just reached an agreement with the San Antonio Spurs (for two seasons) hours before. He seemed very excited to join the NBA (to join the Spurs, above all) and grateful to his former team (Valencia). Sulia

Nando de Colo has agreed to a two-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs. "It's a great honor to arrive to the Spurs, but I will never forget the three years I spent in Valencia". Valencia Basket

A 6-foot-10 forward from Slovenia currently playing with Ricky Rubio’s old club in Spain, Lorbek was a sidepiece of the Leonard deal. De Colo, a 6-foot-5 guard from France, has also been playing in Spain since the Spurs drafted him 53rd overall in 2009. Both have a chance to cross the pond and join the Spurs next season, depending on how the free-agency landscape shakes out. If you’re handicapping it, expect Lorbek to make the jump before de Colo.
