Georgetown swingman Otto Porter is one of the Pistons' targets for next month's NBA draft and Porter compared himself to a player who just left town. "Tayshaun Prince," said Porter, when asked who he patterns his game after. "He's long, lanky, can do a lot of things on the floor. He can defend, rebound." Detroit News

Porter is the perfect fit for Cleveland, and according to sources he is the No. 2-ranked player on the Cavs' board right now. With two dynamic scorers in their backcourt and good size up front, they need a wing like Porter who can excel without having the offense run through him. ESPN.com

Chad Ford said that he knows (his emphasis) who the Cavs are going to select: Otto Porter. What do you "know"? Also, is this the worst draft ever (modern era) talent-wise? -- Aaron Fink, Boulder, Colo. Hey, Aaron: With all due respect to the esteemed Mr. Ford, I know the Cavs don't know who they're taking yet. For one thing, they don't know what pick they'll have yet. I will say Porter makes a lot of sense given their lack of scoring at the small forward position, but I'd doubt they'd take him if they get the No. 1 pick. As for this draft, it takes several years to be able to be able to adequately judge a draft, so I don't think we'll know for a while how this one stacks up. I know personnel people certainly don't seem overly excited. Cleveland Plain Dealer

Chad Ford: Otto Porter officially announced he is declaring for the NBA Draft. Ranked No. 4 on our Big Board & have him going No. 4 to Cavs in Mock Twitter @chadfordinsider

Georgetown's Otto Porter is headed to the NBA. A source told CBSSports.com that the 6-foot-8 sophomore forward will bypass his final two seasons with the Hoyas and declare for the NBA Draft. An announcement is expected Monday at 3 p.m. ET. Several NBA executives told CBSSports.com that Porter is expected to be taken in the draft lottery. CBSSports.com

On Monday, Porter will announce whether he’ll declare for the 2013 draft during a 3 p.m. news conference at McDonough Arena, which will include Big East coach of the year John Thompson III. “I really can’t elaborate other than the fact that he’ll make that announcement tomorrow,” said his father, Otto Porter Sr., in a telephone interview Sunday night. “He was home and we discussed it. We pretty much came to the same conclusion.” Washington Post

According to one NBA scout, Porter is widely viewed as a hard worker who battles on both ends of the court and boasts a complete game. Moreover, the 205-pound Porter is regarded as a grounded young man who takes coaching well and should only improve as he gains bulk and strength. Washington Post
