HoopsHype Pau Gasol rumors

Gasol is a truly remarkable man. Every game this season, win or lose, good game or bad, Gasol has been there to speak with reporters. He can be political at times, though always earnest and thoughtful. He’ll be critical, but never personal. Which the great majority of reporters respect. The reporter seeking to undermine the player or team is the aberration, though they are present at times. Most are satisfied to be the intermediaries for the public, basically doing their jobs. Gasol understands, and it’s not disingenuous when he basically always thanks reporters after interviews for their questions. NBA.com

The most plausible explanation was that the Bulls sacrificed a live chicken in the locker room at halftime, so Nichols asked Gasol. The Bulls center completely avoided answering the question! What’s up with that? I think it is fair to assume that the Chicago Bulls DID sacrifice a live chicken at halftime of their win against the Miami Heat. Otherwise, Gasol would have given Nichols a straight answer. Chicago media should be on the lookout for chicken buckets. The Big Lead

Gasol had 26 points and 10 rebounds for his 50th double-double of the season, helping the Bulls beat the Detroit Pistons 88-82 on Friday night. Gasol became the first Bulls player to reach 50 double-doubles since Charles Oakley had 53 during the 1986-87 season. Gasol secured the feat — and the win — with 5.7 seconds to play when he had a tip-dunk of Taj Gibson's miss and got fouled by Andre Drummond. Gasol hit the free throw, giving Chicago a four-point lead and finishing an important win for the Bulls. That followed a sequence when Drummond blocked Gasol's shot before beating the Bulls' big man for a layup to cut Chicago's lead to 83-82. "Just trying to make up for two bad plays," Gasol said.
