“It was a great opportunity for me to come over here in what’s relatively thought of as the second-best league in the world,” Hummel says. “Next year, the plan is going to be to try and make the Timberwolves, but I think [playing overseas] is just a good way to experience good basketball.” Grantland |

Ouch, again. Timberwolves second-round pick Robbie Hummel's knee problems continue. The guy who tore his ACL twice within 10 months in 2010 now has sustained a meniscus injury in his right knee while playing in Spain, according to the Spanish site familiaobradoirista.blogspot.com. Certainly, it's not on the same scale as those torn ACLs, but he is returning to the U.S. to have arthroscopic surgery and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Hummel signed to play in Spain this season with the Wolves' approval to continue his return from those two ACL injuries that caused him to miss the entire 2010-11 season. Minneapolis Star-Tribune |

Hummel will participate on the Wolves' summer league team in Las Vegas and he even offered to tutor star point guard Ricky Rubio, who tore the ACL in his left knee in March, on how to recover from the injury. "Yeah," Hummel said with a chuckle. "I've been through it twice, so I think can give him some advice on that. It was unfortunate to watch him go down, but it's something you can come back from for sure." Minneapolis Star-Tribune |

If drafted, Hummel likely will be a late second-round selection. He has a workout coming up with the Bulls as well as ones with the Cavaliers, Jazz and Pacers.
