And hours before general manager Sam Presti pulled the trigger, Russell Westbrook – one of the franchise’s two cornerstone – said he and Kevin Durant had no desire to be consulted on the decision. “Not my job,” Westbrook said. “My job is to come out and play. We have a great general manager, great owner and great coach who have done a great job thus far putting this team together. So I’m pretty sure they know what’s best for us.” When asked if Presti ever comes to them to gather their opinion, Westbrook reiterated his previous answer in the most Westbrook way possible. “I don’t want to repeat the same answer, so whatever I just said last time use it as that answer,” he said. Any word on Steven Adams? Rehab, from what I've heard, is going well. But he's still at least a couple weeks away. Russell Westbrook had this same injury earlier this season and missed a month. Adams fractured his hand on February 8th and had surgery on the 9th. The Thunder has 10 more games between now and March 9th. I'd expect him back somewhere around there. Oklahoman

So they’ll get where they need to go, but what will Westbrook do differently this postseason after the criticisms of him reached a fever pitch a year ago in OKC’s flameout against the Spurs in the conference finals? If you ask LeBron, which I did, the answer is … “Be Russell Westbrook. Stop caring about what everybody else thinks. He doesn’t have to change.” I pressed LeBron on what he meant by that — caring about what everyone else thinks. “Just be yourself,” James said, repeating himself. “That’s all. That’s all that matters. Russell Westbrook is one of the best gifted talents this game has ever seen. And he goes out every night and proves that and shows that. I don’t need to tell him anything. He’s doing great. SheridanHoops

Westbrook is quickly shooting up the list of the NBA’s most sought after players. In addition to his clothing line, Westbrook XO, and his signature eyewear, Westbrook Frames, he also has a signature Jordan Brand shoe set to release in June. Westbrook also has partnered with Subway, U.S. Cellular, Mountain Dew, Zenith Watches, True Religion, Six Star Pro Nutrition and King and Jaxs, a designer underwear company. He’s also endorsed Ozarka Water and BancFirst. Oklahoman
