George, the most googled NBA player in 2014, suffered a gruesome season-ending injury while playing in a USA exhibition game. The 10 most googled NBA players in 2014 are as follows: 1. It will be Heat Lite for the foreseeable future for the Miami Heat, with rookie point guard Shabazz Napier and recently signed center Hassan Whiteside assigned Saturday to the team's NBA Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Both players will continue to count toward the Heat's NBA-maximum 15-player limit, and therefore cannot be replaced on the Heat roster. Napier has appeared in 23 games with the Heat this season averaging 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 21.4 minutes while shooting 42.9 percent from the field. South Florida Sun-Sentinel

At UConn, he used a Nike ball, and one of the quirks of the college game is that different teams use different types of basketballs. In the NBA, it's uniform, with Spalding being the only ball used. Napier isn't the only Heat rookie who says the new ball has a new feel. "It is different," said Tyler Johnson, who parlayed a strong summer league showing into a Heat signing. "Especially coming out of college. A lot of times, if the basketball gets wet, it gets slippery. Here, you get your hands wet to make it stick. It's slippery on its own. Miami Heat rookie Shabazz Napier disavowed any knowledge that his Twitter account unfollowed LeBron James and deleted a series of tweets following James' decision to join the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Miami HEAT announced today that they have acquired the draft rights to guard Shabazz Napier (24th overall) from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for the draft rights to P.J. Hairston (26th overall) and Semaj Christon (55th overall), a 2019 second-round draft choice and cash considerations. “Shabazz Napier is a winner, he’s a two-time NCAA champion and he’s one of the elite players in college basketball,” said HEAT President Pat Riley. “We feel very fortunate we were able to acquire him and we feel like he fits in extremely well.
