“There’s some big ‘ol women down there,” Barkley said, repeating insults he has tossed out several times over the years. “That’s a gold mine for Weight Watchers…Victoria is definitely a secret. They can’t wear no Victoria’s Secret down there.” O’Neal stressed that Barkley is “just joking” whenever he takes such shots. “I’ve known Charles a long time,” O’Neal said. “He’s just having a fun time. The women here are mamita linda…very beautiful, very pretty.” San Antonio Express-News

Shaquille O’Neal can add a new title to his LinkedIn profile: “Children’s book author.” The retired basketball player will author a new series of books called Little Shaq for early readers. It will be based on O’Neal’s childhood and feature a series of adventures of a young Shaq and his cousin Barry. “I am excited to be working with Bloomsbury on this project that will reach young, independent readers,” O’Neal said in a statement. “Education is a cause that is very important to me and I love that this series will combine reading with my love of basketball. It’s a slam dunk for literacy!” The first book is scheduled to be published in 2015. For The Win

A lot of you may remember Shaq Fu as the so-bad-it-was-good Super Nintendo game that came out in 1994. While not too many people actually played the game, Shaq Fu has managed to live on in 90s-nostalgia-fueled infamy. And now, 20 years later, Shaq Fu is BACK. Some video game developers announced that they were building Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn a while back and I’ll be the first to admit I thought it was a Funny or Die video or something. Turns out it was real, though, and the gang raised over $450,000 in a 60-day Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to make it happen. For The Win

NBA legend Shaquille 'Shaq' O'Neal has prompted outrage by apparently posting an Instagram photo which mocked a man with a rare genetic condition. Jahmel Binion, whose ectodermal dysplasia hinders his ability to grow teeth and hair, was dumbfounded when thousands of internet users imitated and mocked a selfie he took. They included Shaq, who has now apparently deleted the Instagram photo - which said 'SMILE TODAY' - and uploaded one comparing himself to the cartoon ogre Shrek. Daily Mail

It’s no secret that Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant were not on the best of terms for much of their time together with the Los Angeles Lakers. Both of them have said that numerous times over the years, and Phil Jackson recently blamed Shaq’s work ethic for the demise of their early-2000s dynasty. Bryant echoes this sentiment in a new interview with the New Yorker: “It used to drive me crazy that he was so lazy,” Bryant told me. “You got to have the responsibility of working every single day. You can’t skate through (expletive).” For The Win

Shaquille O'Neal is the subject of an open assault investigation by police in Atlanta after an incident his lawyer described as "horseplay" in which a co-worker was injured last year. No charges have been filed by local police over the event, which according to a police report is alleged to have occurred May 9 and first reported to police July 2. According to Robert Williams, a co-worker of O'Neal's at Turner Studios, for whom O'Neal is an NBA analyst, the 15-time All-Star "ran out of a room and hit me with a tackle punch to the back knocking me down and falling on top of me injuring my neck and back," the police report says. Williams said Turner Security was made aware of the incident within a day. "The investigation was initially handled by the zone and as that investigation deepened, it was transferred (to) the complex case squad," Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon said, according to WSB TV in Atlanta. "At the conclusion of their investigation, we'll have their findings and we'll go forth from there, whether charges will be filed, whether it (will) be reviewed by the DA's Office." ESPN.com

Channel 2 Action News has learned former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department for an alleged assault. Channel 2’s Ryan Young obtained a police report detailing the incident, but so far, O’Neal has not been charged with anything. WSB Channel 2

“(The co-worker) alleged Shaquille O’Neal tackled him to the ground causing injury to his back while they were at work at Turner Studios,” said Sgt. Greg Lyon with the Atlanta Police Department. The incident took place on May 19 at the studios located at Techwood Drive and 10th Street. Robert Williams went to the Atlanta Police Department and said that Shaq tackle-punched him, knocking him down and falling on top of him. Sources told Young that Williams suffered serious injuries. “I don’t know the extent of his injury, but I have heard that as well, that his injuries were severe to his back,” Lyon said. WSB Channel 2

O’Neal’s attorney, Dennis Roach, sent a statement about the incident saying, “This was nothing more than horseplay. No one intended for anyone to get injured.” Young went to Williams’ home Monday afternoon to ask him about the incident but no one answered the door. WSB Channel 2

Shaquille O’Neal, who was one of the first verified users on Twitter, confessed at SXSW that he’s a huge geek. Shaq says that he’s online all the time, and he spends a ridiculous amount of money on apps. “I probably spend $1,000 on apps a week,” Shaq told the Wall Street Journal’s Evelyn Rusli. “Last week I bought like 20 deer hunter games… I’m just a geek. When I’m not working, I spend all my money on apps.” For The Win

Shaq is looking for help making his video game dream come true. The retired center-turned-TNT analyst is teaming up a video production company and IndieGogo to raise money to bring back Shaq Fu, the entirely bizarre video game that he starred in when he was 22. “I don’t think it was the worst,” O’Neal told the Associated Press. “When you talk about the worst, you’ve got to talk about sales. I actually sold a lot of games, but when I did the first ‘Shaq-Fu,’ that was at the end of analog right before digital came out. It wasn’t a bad game. It wasn’t a good game, but it wasn’t awful.” For The Win

Allen Iverson had a memorable career for many things on the court, but perhaps nothing defined his career off the court more than his rant about practice in 2002. 12 years later, he brought it back for a perfect performance in a Reebok commercial that premiered earlier this week. In the spot, Shaq and Shawn Kemp are in a barber shop talking about pants of the past and present when Iverson spins around in a chair. “Pants?” he asks, with the same incredulousness that he said “Practice?” in his original rant. “We talking about pants? Not the game but pants? How silly is that. Old man, take this cape off, I’m out of here. We talking about pants?” For The Win

Grant was on the B.S. Report with Bill Simmons earlier this week and spoke about his glory days with the Bulls and those Magic teams. While there was an ego struggle between O'Neal and Anfernee Hardaway simmering, Grant said he believed O'Neal was ultimately going to stay in Orlando. Then he missed a phone call. He called me, and I didn't return his call, before he signed with the Lakers. And to this day, I wish I had just answered that call, and maybe he still would have been in Orlando. I heard about it and saw it on the news, and it was like Mike Tyson hit me. You cannot recover from a guy that size, in his prime, that dominant to think you are going to win a championship. Absolutely not. Orlando Magic Daily

When center Shaquille O’Neal left the Lakers, it was blamed on his poor relationship with Kobe Bryant. He begs to differ. “We didn’t have a bad relationship because we won three out of four championships,” he told TNT. “That’s not a bad relationship at all. It was a money situation. I was getting older. They wanted me to take less money and I wasn’t going to do that, so they traded me to Miami. It doesn’t matter how many fights or scuffles we had. We’re the best one-two punch ever created.” News-Herald
