The Pacers will bring in a mix of free agents and undrafted rookies. Last summer, veteran Rasual Butler made a big impression, earned an invite to training camp and was on the roster throughout the season. Players are scheduled to report to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday. The Pacers are expected to announce the complete roster this weekend. While not complete, the following are the players I have confirmed will take part: Solomon Hill, Donald Sloan, Kevin Jones, James Nunnally, Jake Odum, Tyler Stone, Ashaun Dixon-Tatum. Being the bottom guy on a 14-man roster can be challenging. But he’s handling it well, whether it is passing out drinks at practice or only being referred to as “rook.” Solomon Hill is taking it in stride, part of a winning organization and understand that it is his year … then, he’s done forever. “I love it, though, because it’s a part of the dream,” he said. “Everybody goes through it.” NBA.com

Hill was back with the Pacers Saturday for shootaround and afterwards he voiced his displeasure with his experience in the D-League, which didn’t turn out to be what he expected. “I would like to say that (it was great for conditioning),” said Hill. “The first game was my fault. Foul trouble. “The second game I’m not too happy about. 25 minutes. I come out after 13 points in the first quarter, and then I end up playing 25 minutes for the full game. I went down to develop, and I didn’t get the chance to develop. I didn’t like that situation, but I hope the best for the team.” NBA.com

“The D-League is for developing talent and I didn’t get a chance to play,” Hill said. “I sat the whole fourth quarter. It’s like, is it really a developmental league? I’m very grateful for the opportunity to play with the Mad Ants organization, but in order for me to try to develop, I have to be on the floor. That just makes me think about my next trip, if I want to go back down there. I’m kind of not tempted to go back down there now just because if I go down there and play 25 minutes after a two-hour drive, it’s like, am I really developing? NBA.com

Vogel, who was working his way down the post-game spread, didn't take his eyes off the meatballs to offer this: "I was texting my goodbyes," he said. Hibbert continued: "I was sleeping then all of a sudden it just started rumbling for like 10 seconds straight. The rookie grabbed me on my leg –" "Yo! What's going on over there," Solomon Hill responded when he heard his name being besmirched. Indianapolis Star

Pacers first-round pick Solomon Hill has signed an endorsement deal with Nike, according to his agent. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This comes as no surprise. Both his AAU team and the University of Arizona were outfitted by Nike. After being drafted by the Pacers on June 27 and signing his first NBA contract on July 3, Hill listened to any and all offers. “When you get older, it’s all business,” Hill said back in July. “Even though you like Nike, some people may come at you with a better position for yourself, a better brand for yourself so you have to listen to everybody.” Pacers.com
