The Rockets will send forward Terrence Jones back to their NBA Development League affiliate this week. In his previous two games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Jones averaged 22.5 points and 17.5 rebounds. With Jones assigned to the D-League and Royce White not with the team, Patrick Patterson returned to the active list, but he did not dress. Patterson stepped up his on-court rehab on Tuesday but is expected to be out with a bruised right foot for all three games this week. Houston Chronicle

In part two of RidiculousUpside.com's interview with Rockets Vice President of Basketball Operations, Gersson Rosas, (here's part one to review) the executive discusses each rookie's progress, and the strategy behind their assignments. For more, read on below. Q: As we talk about specific player development, what can you tell me about the progress Terrence Jones and Donatas Montiejunas are making with the D-League Vipers? A: Terrence Jones is a very special player with a lot of physical tools and good talent base. Both he and Donatas Montiejunas are guys who have played at high levels. Terrence won an NCAA title at Kentucky, and Donatas played at a high level in Europe last season. Both of those guys are very close to playing in the NBA, but we have a lot depth with the Rockets, so they just haven't had the opportunity to play yet. Ridiculous Upside

Dime: What is the funniest story you have from the process? JH: Probably when me and Perry (Jones) had to go through customs in Canada when we went to work out for the Raptors so we got on line and they looked at our passports and had us fill out the papers, everything was fine. Then Terrence (Jones) comes up and the lady takes him a whole different way so he had to go through the back and a completely different process. They had to recheck him and look and double-check his passport so it was really funny to see him go through that, and it took him 15 minutes more to get downstairs. Dime

Due to bad body language, Terrence Jones has been a player that scouts speculated would struggle in interviews and psychological examinations, but surprisingly according to contacts he has tested very well. Despite that, word is that he has been slipping some of late. He's seen as a likely mid first rounder (15-23) with an outside shot of cracking the lottery. NBADraft.net
