For good luck, Scoop Jardine placed his belongings by Jeremy Lin's locker in Westchester before his workout. Scoop said delivering passes to fellow Syracuse standout Carmelo Anthony would be "the easiest job in the world.'' Says Melo texted him often this season as Syracuse soared atop rankings. Hoping #Knicks pick him at 48 and feels did real well in his matchup with Tu Holloway today. Sulia

Today, the Knicks will commence their pre-draft workouts and bring in Jardine and another intriguing local product, Tu Holloway, the 6-foot point guard from Hempstead, Long Island, via Xavier. Holloway’s rep took a hit last season for his involvement in a fight against Cincinnati after which he said his club had “a whole bunch of gangsters.’’ New York Post

"It's about your heart and things like that," Holloway said. "People watched me be the best player on the college floor many nights and I was the smallest guy on the floor. If I do it on the college level being 6-feet, 6-1, I can definitely make an impact in the NBA. You look at every team, guys are my size. Newsday

The Nets again are holding a mass pre-draft workout this weekend with 44 NBA hopefuls scheduled to attend. The Nets, who are holding the workout in conjunction with the Rockets, staged a similar combine last year. All 30 NBA teams are expected to have representatives on hand to watch skill tests and 5-on-5 competition for the mostly second rounders. Nope, no one from Kentucky. There will be a lot of local talent including Big East Player of the Year Jae Crowder of Marquette, a 6-6 235-pound forward. Other familiar faces are 6 -7 Syracuse forward Kris Joseph, 6-1 Iona guard Scott Machado and 6-0 Xavier guard by way of Long Island Tu Holloway. New York Post

5. Tu Holloway, Xavier – Too high for one of the 5 best players in the history of the Atlantic-10? Nope. 4. Jeremy Lamb, Connecticut – Is this too high for a quiet kid who won’t have Kemba Walker around anymore and will have to become the team’s leader? Nope. 3. Terrence Jones, Kentucky – Inconsistent as a freshman (who isn’t?), but I’d say he’s the most talented player on Kentucky’s loaded roster (right now). 2. Harrison Barnes, North Carolina – Inconsistent as a freshman (who isn’t?), but enjoy him while you can before he’s a top 3 pick in the 2012 NBA draft. 1. Jared Sullinger, Ohio State – I’m just glad he stuck around for his sophomore year. Stay all four, like Hansbrough did! The Big Lead

As expected, Xavier junior guard Tu Holloway has declared for the June 23 NBA draft. He has not hired an agent. “I want to explore my options and gather as much information as I can to see what opportunities might exist for me,” Holloway said. “I’ve always had a dream to play in the NBA and I want to see what the opportunities are and make the most well-informed decision about my future.” “Terrell wants to gather all of the input he can on what his NBA opportunities might be,” Xavier coach Chris Mack said. ”We will support him and help him throughout so he can make a wise decision. He has nothing to lose going through this process.” cincinnati.com
