The Bucks acquired Ellis from Golden State in March 2012 in a deal that sent Andrew Bogut to the Warriors. Oddly, a member of the proposed ownership group trying to keep the Kings in Sacramento has done some background checking on Ellis as a possibility for the Kings if the team decides to part ways with restricted free agent Tyreke Evans this summer, a league source involved in the discussions said. Ellis is weighing his options and hasn't decided yet whether he will opt out of his $11 million deal. CBSSports.com

In 10 games following the All-Star break, No. 13 has connected on a blistering 45.2 percent from downtown, sinking a career-high four triples against Phoenix on Friday. “I just try to shoot the same every time,” he said. “I’ve been in the gym working hard and it’s been paying off, and now I just have to keep shooting the same way.” While Kings Head Coach Keith Smart has witnessed the daily extra work Evans has put in to improve his mid- and long-range game since training camp, he admits to being pleasantly surprised by the Memphis product’s steady outside accuracy. “I think everyone is surprised – I think he’s surprised,” said Smart. “But I think sometimes when you work on a certain skill over the summer, you don’t see the immediate payoff. It may be a little (longer) time coming, but you just have to stay diligent to what you’re doing.” The Kings Blog

But according to Robinson’s former teammate, Tyreke Evans, the rookie was frustrated with his role in Sacramento and likely needed a change of scenery to truly develop. Evans compared Robinson’s rookie year to date with current Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors, the No. 3 pick of the 2010 draft, who was involved in trade rumors from the day Brooklyn drafted him until being traded 56 games into his rookie season. “[Robinson] is going to be pretty good,” Evans told HOOPSWORLD. “He’s young and got a lot of talent. He was a little frustrated here, but the same thing [happened] with Derrick Favors. He was in New Jersey frustrated, went to Utah and now he’s playing good.” HoopsWorld

The two prevailing names that have been talked about since training camp are veteran guard John Salmons and veteran forward Francisco Garcia. There does appear to be some interest in Tyreke Evans, although one team that was trying to pursue him got little traction in that conversation. HoopsWorld

As for Evans? Word is the Grizzlies would have loved to acquire him as part of the big trade that sent Gay away, but the Kings really aren't in a position to take on salary as they await clarification on who'll be buying the team from the Maloof brothers. ESPN.com

And still, with Evans appearing to be getting back into pre-injury form, his name continues to generate trade speculation. Evans said he’s heard his name being mentioned around teams like the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, just to name a few. Does he want to be dealt? “Not really,” said Evans. “I’m good. I like playing for the Kings. I’d love to be here.” CSNPhilly.com
