A 6-foot-10 forward from Slovenia currently playing with Ricky Rubio’s old club in Spain, Lorbek was a sidepiece of the Leonard deal. De Colo, a 6-foot-5 guard from France, has also been playing in Spain since the Spurs drafted him 53rd overall in 2009. Both have a chance to cross the pond and join the Spurs next season, depending on how the free-agency landscape shakes out. If you’re handicapping it, expect Lorbek to make the jump before de Colo. Spurs draftee Nando de Colo has no agreement in place with San Antonio, but the French guard will give the Spurs first dibs over European clubs as a free agent, his agent Wassim Boutanos told HoopsHype. "We have promised the Spurs we will let them know of any firm offer Nando receives - whether it is from Barcelona, (Caja Laboral) Vitoria or any other European team," Boutanos said. "We have been in contact with the Spurs for a long time and Nando is in every projection they have about the team for next season, but the timing now is not right to negotiate and it probably won't be until after the draft." Today’s edition of France-based L’Equipe has a brief bit on Les Bleus/Valencia guard Nando de Colo with regard to his immediate future. De Colo was selected by the San Antonio Spurs at no. 53 overall in the 2009 draft and, now that the Valencia BC season has ended at the hands of FC Barcelona, the man they call “Aladdin” awaits word from Texas. “I’m waiting patiently,” De Colo told L’Equipe. “Some clubs are always interested in competition and hopefully will be fixed in June. The Spurs have followed me, come to see me, talked with me. But for now, nothing has been done, no agreement has been [made].” Ball In Europe
