The Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to part ways with A.J. Price, the team announced on Saturday. Price, 28, had a solid preseason showing with the Cavaliers appearing in six games and averaging 7.2 points, 1.5 assists in 13.3 minutes per game. Though centre Greg Stiemsma (below) has been seen as the favourite to earn Toronto’s final roster spot since Day 1, the other two contenders are still in the mix. Head coach Dwane Casey said Sunday that swingman Jordan Hamilton and point guard Will Cherry have also impressed the team and no decision is forthcoming. “We’re not in a hurry whatsoever,” Casey said. “All three men have done an excellent job in practice. Will Cherry is as tough a little competitor as you can find. Jordan Hamilton is a great scorer and really fighting on the defensive end and Greg Stiemsma is a solid, solid big man, veteran big man who has done some great things in the post.
