The Minnesota Timberwolves have evaluated another group of draft prospects, highlighted by Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum. McCollum was watched by team officials at the Target Center practice court on Tuesday. McCollum worked out by himself. Before that, Illinois guard Brandon Paul, Georgia Tech forward Glen Rice Jr., Brazil forward Augusto Lima, Oregon forward Arsalan Kazemi and England forward Ashley Hamilton were in a practice group together. Rice is projected by most analysts to be a second-round selection. Oklahoman

While most foreign teenagers wisely sharpen their skills overseas before venturing to play basketball in America, the 19-year-old Schroeder is ready to plunge at the game's most demanding position. “I made a promise to my dad that one day I want to reach the NBA,” Schroeder said. “Hopefully, it will come true. I work for it every day.” As for when Schroeder will be picked in the June 27 draft, projections range from No. 12 (HoopsHype.com) to No. 29 (CBSSports.com), and both those picks belong to the Thunder. If OKC reserve guard Reggie Jackson were to excel and price himself out of an affordable contract extension, Schroeder could evolve into Russell Westbrook's backup. Oklahoman

After another pre-draft workout Tuesday morning, vice president of player personnel Walt Perrin said he does not expect Michigan’s Trey Burke to audition for the Jazz. Burke is the top-rated point guard in the draft whose advisors obviously don’t think he’s going to be available to Utah, which owns the 14th and 21st picks in the first round. "I’ve been in communication with his people," Perrin said. "They’ve kind of drawn the line on how many workouts they are going to do. ... I don’t think we’ll get him in." Salt Lake Tribune

NCAA scoring leader Erick Green of Virginia Tech is one of six players scheduled for a predraft workout for the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday at Pepsi Center. Green, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard who averaged 25 points for the Hokies last season, is set to be joined by Arizona forward Grant Jarrett, Oklahoma forward Amath M’Baye, Oklahoma guard Steven Pledger, Kansas swingman Travis Releford and North Carolina guard Dexter Strickland.
