ACB Rumors

One source at Valencia Basket shot down reports from Turkey that they are pursuing Magic forward Hidayet Turkoglu. Valencia has been linked in the past few days to players such as Corey Brewer or Maurice Evans, but nothing is happening. The Spanish club is not interested in players that would ask for an NBA out, the source told HoopsHype’s Raul Barrigon.
Warriors restricted free-agent swingman Reggie Williams used his Twitter account Monday to confirm reports that he had signed a deal to play with Caja Laboral Vitoria of the Spanish ACB League. Williams is the first Warriors player to sign an international deal during the NBA’s lockout. Stephen Curry and Dorell Wright have expressed interest in playing overseas, and agent Bill Duffy said Saturday that Andris Biedrins will start exploring offers next month.
Gran Canaria’s GM Himar Ojeda went on Twitter yesterday to deny reports that Rasual Butler’s contract with the Spanish team had an NBA out and reiterated that today in a conversation with HoopsHype “There’s no out clause,” Ojeda said. “In fact, there’s no mention whatsoever of the NBA in the contract. There’s no gray area for interpretation. It’s just a typical European contract.”
Golden State Warriors free-agent forward Reggie Williams has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Caja Laboral Vitoria of the Spanish ACB League, Williams’ agent told Yahoo! Sports. The deal includes a $1 million buyout if Williams wants to return to the NBA this season. Under the NBA’s previous collective bargaining agreement, NBA teams could contribute up to $500,000 to buy out a player’s overseas contract.
There’s a team that would open the doors to the forward. It was at Biella where he played with only 20 years and where he played two seasons before jumping to the NBA and that club will probably be the one that ends signing Jerebko. Cajasol would have wanted him, even with the risk of another Achilles tendon injury, but they said no to the opt-out clause to escape to the NBA, something which Biella has no problem with.
