LaLa Vasquez Rumors
“We tried to convey to him, the city of Los Angeles, what it brings to elite athletes, and what we could do to support him,” Worthy said of the meeting, during which the Lakers reportedly offered Melo a four-year, $95 million contract. “I told Carmelo, I said, I wish your wife were here because she’s more popular than you in Los Angeles. We’re trying to recruit her, because if you can get LaLa, Carmelo has no say-so. So, we’re trying to get her to Hollywood. Hollywood is right here. She can do whatever she wants,” Worthy told SLAM.
They say “happy wife, happy life” … and the same rings true for NBA superstars — because Carmelo Anthony’s wife tells TMZ Sports her opinion definitely matters when it comes to where Melo will play next season.
Also known as La La Vazquez, a reality TV star and former MTV VJ, Anthony’s celebrity wife never had fully denied the incident that occurred in a Garden game last January. “I wasn’t ever going to bring up the Honey Nut Cheerios incident again. But since I’m writing this book, I might as well set the record straight for good,’’ La La writes. “Kevin Garnett in fact had never said that I tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. I tried to figure out how this big lie was turned into a media firestorm. I still can’t answer that one…Melo and Kevin are cool today. And now it’s nothing but a faint memory.’’
“I did notice during the game Melo and Kevin were jawing a lot at each other,’’ she writes. “But that’s basketball, the heat of the game. I really didn’t think anything of it. But when Melo went to have words with him, I knew it had to be more than an in-game beef. I asked Melo about it and all he said was that Kevin said things you shouldn’t stay to a person you have a friendship with or respect for. [Melo] told him I’m not some rookie. We’ve been in this league a while together so don’t treat me the way you’d treat a rookie. I’m sure the words were a little stronger than that but that was the gist of what Melo said back to Kevin.’’
Carmelo Anthony said his wife, La La Vazquez, has a right to be “upset’’ her name resurfaced during the Celtics series. Boston reserve Jordan Crawford, according to replays, appears to have shouted a vulgar remark at Anthony regarding Vazquez after the final buzzer of Wednesday’s Game 5. Vazquez expressed her disapproval Thursday on Twitter and Anthony said she has the right to express her views — even if it focused more attention on the controversy. “I would be upset too if I was her,’’ Anthony said at the Knicks’ shootaround at Suffolk University yesterday morning. “She’s always getting thrown into the mix of the Boston Celtic series. I would be upset if I was here. She’s her own person. At the end of the day, she has the right to say whatever she wants to say.’’

Hell hath no fury like an angry basketball wife. La La Vasquez yesterday ripped the Boston Celtic bench-warmer who nearly started a brawl after Game 5 with a lewd comment about the reality diva to her hubby, Knick star Carmelo Anthony. “STRONG WOMEN only intimidate weak men,” she posted on her Instagram page yesterday, in a dig at Celtic no- name Jordan Crawford. She also wrote, “Try again. You on the bench for a reason.”
