Can only imagine the pics they're texting Xander after that last bomb.
Who was better? Dantley or Aguirre? I say Dantley. Look as his number in Utah. They were sick.
Loving Dantley's candor here, he's still pissed about the trade
That dude's mullet was the 80s
Honored again to be invited to presentation of Boston Marathon wreaths from Greece to BAA. Thinking of my ancestors.
Checking out @bostoniapublic on opening night. http://t.co/u4OyKPSi5r
Considering his love of numbers, surprised Rondo didn't use 18,624 here. Still cool tho. "You can't cheat the fans." http://t.co/6rDpQxWZ0K
Nova is the question. If he's the starter is he automatically a captain? Awkward if he's the starter and not a capt after being one jr year
Captain vote should be interesting this summer. Seems like Milewski, Burton and Hamilton, despite being a junior, are near locks.
Being a leader/captain is about seeing things going on that others don't; hearing things that others miss; taking daily pulse/read of team!
Difficulties r part of all of our live's. Difficulty must be challenged and not just accepted. It won't be easy but it has to be attacked!
How bad does it have to be when Ducks say Getzlaf needed "numerous" stitches to fix a deep facial laceration than an actual number?
That quote is awesome on many levels. But the greater message of that article is how much more intense SEC schools are in recruiting.
Per Jackie Mac, Kings trade talk was serious, but when SAC "illegally" inquired re: Rondo's interest in re-signing, he said, "Hell no."
Jackie Mac expects Dante Exum to go fourth. Adds Celtics, like others, covet the Australian guard. He's an unknown to media, but not to C's.
Off to Orlando...Wheels up ✈️✈️
Ainge continues to publicly make his sales pitch on Jeff Green. "He's becoming a more valuable asset."
Ainge on Bradley's injury history: "I think that is somewhat of an issue." Didn't deny offering 4 years, $24 million prior to the season.
Remember: Ainge might "see" Rondo on next year's team, but it doesn't mean that will happen. Anything could happen this summer.
Steve Clifford and Dave Joerger named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month.
Does Ainge see Rondo on the 2014-15 Celtics? "Yeah, I've said that like a thousand times." Admitted Rondo has declined a contract extension.
Ainge on 2014 NBA draft: "I just don't think there's that one player that's going to turn a franchise from a lottery team into a top team."
Why do I get the feeling Ainge would take Parker with the No. 1 pick and these other GMs would take Wiggins? Just a hunch.
And just to brighten up your Thursday: Corey Maggette retired with $89M in career earnings.
Rondo 13th most popular jersey on NBA's end-of-season list; Celtics 6th most popular team merchandise. http://t.co/tbtAwe5Vh3
Jabari P. is Coach K's fifth one-and-done along with Maggette, Deng, Austin Rivers and Kyrie. Somewhat mixed results so far.
Jabari Parker's announcement great development for Celts. He'll push a lot of talent down the draft board. Probably the most NBA ready, too.
SI has Jabari Parker entering the NBA draft. Even if they don't get a chance to pick him, this is huge news for the Celtics.
I spent a day w/ him when he won Gatorade National Player of the Year as a HS junior. Humblest kid I've covered in boys' hoops.
Flood says the new NCAA rule on unlimited meal plans "makes a lot of sense." Thinks it will help with nutrition.
Happy for Jabari. Hope he ends up in Boston, if only so folks around here can see just how special of a kid he really is.
S&C coaches are allowed more time with players than other coaches based on NCAA rules. Flood called Cole "a major asset."
Flood praised strength and conditioning coach Jeremy Cole. Called that position one of the "more critical hires" for a coach.
Saturday's scrimmage is going to be big for the QBs. Flood says it's an opportunity for separation in the competition.
Stevens wants to catch a Bruins playoff game. Doesn't know if he'll stay up for every Red Sox game, though.
Kyle Flood called today an "excellent practice." Happy with the energy and emotion. Former player Dino Mangiero spoke to the team.
Stevens: "I need to get better in a lot of ways. It was a transition moving into the NBA. It's a much different game."
Stevens: "I really want to be good. I want to do my job as well as I can. You look at 25-57, and it's hard to swallow."
Stevens: "The guy that stands out is the guy we gave the Auerbach Award to yesterday, and that is Brandon Bass."
Stevens: "If we ever had issues b/w coach/player & player/player, those were few & far between." Calls locker room "a positive environment."
Brad Stevens: "I'm disappointed in our overall record and how we performed collectively."
Pitch for the Mrs. Doubtfire sequel: Same exact cast/script, just w/all the actors 20+ years older. Would be real creepy, but you'd watch.
My guess on the Celtics first pick: If they can get Jabari, they take Jabari. Otherwise they trade it away.
Reminder that a bunch of RU players will visit the Jets today: Coleman, Merrells, Deering, Jones, Marsh, Carrezola, Pratt.
Jeff Green led the Celtics in scoring this year w/16.9 ppg. Lowest avg for C's leading scoring since Dee Brown averaged 15.5 in '94.
Ainge on possibility of bringing Paul Pierce back: "At the right price, right circumstance."
I'll have more stories in the coming days, but for now, thanks to anyone who followed along during my 1st full season covering the @Celtics.
Ainge has Heat/Pacers and Clippers/Thunder in the conference semifinals. Thinks Heat are still the best team. Can't disagree.
Ainge on 'fireworks': "I'm looking to make something happen. But I have to make sure that we do a good deal, not just to make a splash."
Ainge: "I'm looking to make something happen. … I have to make sure we're making a good deal & not just making a deal to blow off fireworks"
Ainge: "I owe Rondo. Rondo has been a greater player for us. … I owe it to him to be honest." Added. "You bet I do consult with him."
Ainge could see Hump back on C's next season, but not at $12M. Although, "He has the chance to hit the jackpot again on a sign-and-trade."
Ainge on a dealing for an All-Star: "That's possible. We'll certainly look into that. So much depends upon where we end up in the draft."
Is any player un-tradable? Ainge: "No."
