Suns have let go assistant coach Kenny Gattison and progressing D-League's Nate Bjorkgren into player development role, sources tell RealGM.
The marriage was over. Even if everyone hated Thibs at the end, doesn't make much sense to me to add those words to final release.
Reinsdorf owns the team and he can do what he wants -- but the Bulls are getting shredded, in this case, for a mess they could have avoided.
I'm really surprised the Bulls signed off on that Reinsdorf statement being included in the press release. What was the benefit to them?
He's the guy they've targeted all along. He's the guy the entire league has assumed for months they would have if the Thibs breakup happened
I haven't talked to anybody in the last 24 hours who believes the Bulls next coach will be anyone other than Fred Hoiberg.
Former Bulls coach Scott Skiles remains on track to be Magic coach. Assistant GM Matt Lloyd worked with him at Bulls.
Anybody else shocked Scott Skiles is back in the NBA, coaching Orlando?
Several Thibodeau confidantes have suggested him taking season off, collecting Bulls' check and waiting for 16-17 openings.
Shout out to my nephew who, as 1 of 2 valedictorians at his HS graduation today, is clearly headed to smarter profession than sportswriting.
Seems fitting that on day Thibs/Bulls call it quits, my car battery dies in Advocate lot. Both the battery, and that relationship, were dead
For those viewing White Sox baseball thank you for your patience as we leave Baltimore for Houston. Total respect for everyone in this game

Can't agree with anyone bringing up Thibs' playoff record as reason to fire him. He got two chances with Derrick Rose four years apart.
Not much insight given at Bulls press conference. Paxson talked about the Cleveland series as missing a window of opportunity.
Bulls can say what they want about going through process. They're locked and loaded on hiring Hoiberg. His job to lose.
The biggest takeaway from Gar/Pax press conference? Thibs, Gar and Pax really, really didn't like each other. In case you still weren't sure
Gar says final decision was made last night. They informed Thibs this morning.
Bulls assistant Andy Greer has been let go. As for the other assistants, that will be determined by the new coach

Gar says "a change was needed" after meetings with players and personnel.
Gar doesn't want to discuss "personal conversation" they had with Thibs this morning.
Pax: "We were all really disappointed with the way season ended. Cleveland is a great team. But given their injuries, the path was there."
Bulls exec VP John Paxson said players never witnessed animosity between management and Thibodeau. Doesn't think it had effect.
Gar/Pax say Thibs was involved in discussions regarding minutes limit. They say he knew all the information given to them by doctors.
Pax on the minutes restrictions: "Tom was part of all the discussions, he knew everything that was going on."
Bulls exec VP John Paxson said Thibodeau was participant in discussions with medical people regarding minutes restrictions.

Forman said no teams called for Thibs and as far as looking for compensation, "nothing could be further from the truth"
Gar says Bulls will start search for new coach tonight.
Forman said process of hiring next coach begins tonight and will carry into the weekend. Won't discuss names. But Hoiberg's job to lose.

Forman reiterates what Tribune reported all along: Bulls would've granted permission for other teams to talk to Thibs. Nobody called.
Forman said Bulls were not looking for asset or using situation as leverage ploy. Said major decision bigger than 2nd round pick.
Gar says Bulls need a "Culture of communication that builds a trust within organization ..."
Gar Forman: "There needs to build culture of communication that builds trust . . . a culture when everybody is pulling in same direction."
Bulls GM Gar Forman: "We want to thank Tom for all the contributions he made to the Bulls' organization."
Gar and Pax have entered the building. http://t.co/aRs7WbuUxE
Minute restrictions got little overblown at times/fit neatly in Thibs vs. front office: But players it was imposed on had no problem w/ it.
Definitely a sense of relief within the United Center -- from all involved -- that this thing has come to a resolution.
Joakim Noah in text message on Thibodeau: "I want to thank Thibs for all the work he put in. I wish him nothing but the best."
Bulls assistant coach Andy Greer just left the Advocate Center. Bulls security was wheeling a lot of boxes out with him.
The next couple weeks for the Bulls will seem like you're hearing Kanye and Chris Rock on a track
Don't forget Arne Duncan, President Obama's Secretary of Education who played for Thibs at Harvard, gave big Thibs endorsement to Reinsdorf.
What's up folks..broadcasting in Baltimore
Thibs as Col Jessup: "You people just weakened a franchise!''
Bulls next season: Each guy plays 24 minutes, and participation medals are handed out at the end of the year. Can't wait!
Heard Paul Konerko was asked to be a coach/player for the Bulls, but turned it down.
I mean the Robin Ventura thing has worked out so well ... what could possibly go wrong?
Can't wait for the new coach to deal with the Rose-Butler stare down that's coming. Thibs had that under control.
Joakim Noah: "I just want to thank Thibs for all the hard work he put in and I wish him the best."
JVG speaks for himself. But can't emphasize enough how much his Jan. comments angered Reinsdorf, previously an oasis for Thibodeau.
In the long run this will be a better situation for Thibodeau. Free agent, and can basically pick and choose where and when he wants to work
Opinion, not reporting: Not standing up for Ron Adams' dismissal really hurt Thibs. Lost power struggle. Could've said: "He's gone. I walk."
Source: Thibs was actually tipped off of the firing late last night, and as far as the assistant coaches most of them will be gone.
There would probably be some lively debate about who is more at fault for that culture, but the bosses always have the last word.
Hoiberg is recovering from heart surgery and has obviously kept low profile. Several close to him confident he's ready for NBA challenge.
Jimmy Butler declined comment regarding Thibs situation. Players and assistants still filing in and out of Advocate Center.
Thibs pulled into the Advocate Center parking lot around 11 am CT. He pulled out around around 11:45 CT after news was announced.
Fred Hoiberg is leading candidate to replace Thibodeau, who had been telling those close to him he'd be fired by Friday. Told at AM mtng.
I sense a black/white thing (metaphorically). Either you're with Thibs or with the front office. My sense is this is much more gray
I like this quote from Gar Forman in the press release: "Over the last five years we have had some success with Tom as our head coach."
The statement definitely shows this wasn't an amicable marriage or divorce. You wonder if either side truly respected the other's talents
Bulls executives John Paxson and Gar Forman will address the media at 2 CT.
