Blazers finding it hard to shoot ... while laughing.
Bulls lineup to open 2nd: McDermott, Moore, Mohammed, Snell and Mirotic. Players ask Snell to change last name so they can be the Five M's
The backup for Brooks is Moore. He's running the point right now.
Or as I like to call it .... SHOWTIME 2.0!!
Starting second with ... sit in chair first ... Nazr, Snell, Mirotic, McDermott and Moore running the show.
Bulls open 2nd quarter with Snell, Mirotic, Mohammed, Moore and McDermott.
32-21 Portland 66% Bulls 21%
32 points allowed in the first quarter. Not exactly how Thibs drew it up.
Moore in the game.
Gibson draws third foul late in 1st qtr; Nazr in playing his second minute of season
Taj Gibson has 3 fouls. Nazr Mohammed over Cameron Bairstow tonight. Mohammed has played 1 minute before tonight.
Here comes Nazr.
Snell and McDermott getting some early run tonight. Bulls need offense from somewhere. The pair is on floor with Mirotic, Brooks and Gibson.
This would be an awesome Summer League lineup right now for the Bulls.
Aldridge told media no longer holds grudge against Bulls for trading him in draft; Said went hard against them. Has 10 pts; Bulls down 28-11
In the Bulls' current six-game losing streak here in Portland, they lost 116-74 in 2008 and 122-98 in 2009. It's 28-11 so far tonight.
Welcome to R.I.P. City!
Aldridge with 10. Blazers 28-11 246 left 1st
"The White Flag Game.''
The Bulls don't play well in Portland at full strength. At half-mast? Forget about it.
Bulls start 1-11 shooting. Lots of support in huddle for Aaron Brooks with only basket as everyone's asking how he did it
Bulls getting rolled early. Down 16-3 already and are getting run up and down the floor. Bulls just 1-for-11 from the field.
Bulls early strategy appears to be to give Blazers overconfidence. Portland 16-3 start. Yes, it's working.
16-3 Portland. That's all I got
K.... time to turn the attention to Utah.
Lots of good facial hair on and off the court at the Modacenter.
The Aaron Brooks Show is going down tonight. He's going to play a lot of minutes, score a lot of points. Question is: On how many shots?
Blazers by 8 tonight.
You know what's gotten real quiet? All the Kevin Love is unstoppable supporters.
Bulls' starters tonight: Brooks, Dunleavy, Gibson, Noah and Butler.
Aaron Brooks, a Pacific Northwest guy, gets the start in Portland.
More Kirk on rib: "I never really thought it was broken. Just took a really good shot and having trouble with any type of movement really."
Kirk Hinrich out: "Very sore; just one of those things where I got banged up pretty good and didn’t have enough time to recover for tonight"
Rose didn't just refuse to talk. Gave the throat slash refusal when asked. Guess Portland really is a bad memory.
Covering my first game in Indianapolis tomorrow, by the way, and I'm thrilled. It's the Phoenix Suns, too, so it should be delightful!
Rose declined to talk about being in same building where he tore meniscus a year ago Saturday.
Rose not talking. So there you go.
Hinrich says he's still sore. Says it's actually bruised ribs. Took a few hard shots on them before taking charge from Cousins.
Hinrich said injury occurred before he took charge from Cousins. Bruised ribs. Hurts to take deep breaths.
Moore is indeed your backup Bulls point guard. Butler also an option.
Dinner with the "enemy" my son TC , Trailblazers coaching staff intern . http://t.co/lg5Jw6yVLO
Thibs says Moore could get some more run tonight as a backup point guard. Butler could be used a little in that role as well.
Thibodeau said Moore and Butler are backup PGs.
Thibs says Hinrich is still very sore. He's day to day. So is Rose.
Thibodeau said Hinrich is day-to-day but is very sore today.
Two Bulls jerseys near center court right now: A Hinrich jersey and an MJ 45 jersey.
Bulls' bus has arrived. Nevertheless, it still doesn't possess many healthy PGs.
Bulls warming up in Portland. http://t.co/9hOhsb6QVd
Bulls team bus is late. Maybe they stopped to pick up a backup point guard from the Portland Y.
Bulls' bus stuck in traffic and running late. No players on court warming up yet.
Movember continues. Beard City in Rip City. Bulls- Blazers 9pm CT pre Bulls Radio Network ESPN 1000 http://t.co/y3E00s0cJh
Crazy to be here almost one year to the day of Rose meniscus tear. Tomorrow is anniversary. http://t.co/13k2eaHbuc
Thibs to talk in less than 30 minutes. Maybe the Rose speaks after that.
Another conspiracy theory: Conspiracy theories are pretty dumb.
Conspiracy theory? Adidas doesn't want one poster boy making another poster boy look foolish tonight. "Tell 'em it still hurts.''
With Rose, Gasol and Hinrich out Friday, Bulls likely start two all defense players, former Most Improved winner and two top 6th Man players
FWIW, have to say Bulls have been very transparent with NBA's new injury policy.
Hey if Thibs needs help at the point guard I was a non athletic under sized CYO baller at St.Louise in Bellevue , Washington back in the day
Memo to Aaron Brooks: Stay out of foul trouble, kid.
Projected starting five will be: Brooks, Butler, Dunleavy, Noah and Gibson. Moore could get love as back-up PG. SOMEONE CALL NATE!!!
Hoy, paso adelante en mi recuperación y ya he podido trabajar en la pista. Cada día más cerca de volver a jugar! http://t.co/SaapyAIl4j
Kirk Hinrich (chest contusion)-out Derrick Rose (left hamstring strain)-out Pau Gasol (left calf strain)-out
Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of Rose's season-ending MCL injury...and yes, it happened in Portland where the team plays tonight.
Jimmy Butler has claimed in the past that he can run the point. He might get his chance.
Thibs has Portland right where he wants 'em.
No Rose, Gasol or Hinrich tonight.
There's hope Rose returns for Monday in Utah. If not, Bulls will consider signing a PG. No official timetable on Hinrich but he's hurting.
Bulls PR sends out release saying Rose, Gasol and Hinrich are all out tonight.
Hinrich, Gasol and Rose all out vs. Portland.
Rose is a +46 which is fourth-best on the team (51st in the league). So when he plays, the team is functioning well ... when he plays.
The Bulls player with the lowest? McDermott at -62, which is 389th in the Association.
The Bulls player with the best plus/minus so far this season is Mike Dunleavy at +105 - 8th-best in the NBA.
So why are Dougie McBuckets and Mirotic only getting 5 minutes of run when everyone is healthy? "You got to know your opponent.'' Thibs.
That's it in a nutshell... do with it what you'd like.
.. in order to find the smallest ones.
The "insane'' reputation that follows Thibs from other NBA coaches is because of how well he sees tendencies and how much film he watches ..
Gibson said yesterday that they always know that the game plan will be spot on. It's up to the players to execute it.
According to Dunleavy, Thibs finds things on film that go unnoticed by many. And he finds everything.
DRose admitted that it took him three or four seasons to get a grasp of it, because it's getting a grasp of the entire league.
... but the work put behind each game plan is. That's why he is very Belichick-like.
... as well as where the help comes from. And not just Player A, but the other players you could switch to. His schemes are not inventive ..
...that zone. So not only do Bulls players have to understand the 5-10 tendencies of each player, but the necessary reaction to each one....
The left block area is a hot spot for Player A when he dribbles left, there has to be a reaction from a Bulls defender to take him out of...
