cavs' depleted bench has outscored hawks' no-good-one 18-12
Mike Scott 8 min, 0 FGA. guess he wasn't the answer
No wonder James Jones is a cool customer out there; in locker room before AM shootaround and then before game, sat at locker reading a book.
Tristan 9 reb, 0-5 ft
James Jones stepping up
Tristan Thompson has 9 rebounds in first half, but 0 of 5 from foul line
cavs up 5, but seems like more
Cavs doing all the little things it takes to win while undermanned on the road. LeBron 17 on 6-10 shooting. Lead Hawks 54-49 at half.
The Cavs were 7-for-11 from 3 in the first half (63.6 pct).
Cavs up 54-49 at the half. LeBron 17p 4r 4a; James Jones 9p; Iman 8p; J.R. Smith 7p; Tristan 9r. For ATL Korver 12p; Teague 10p 5a
James Jones and Iman Shumpert a combined 5/6 from 3 tonight. First Delly, then Smith, now Shumpert & Jones. Someone different every night
Iman Shumpert is a bad man.
In a battle of talent vs. system, talent is winning. Cavs have just six assists on 17 makes. Just going one-on-one.
Hawks were working way back in it, 5 big pts by Shump
Some of my favorite moments, just as NBA fan, are watching LeBron have success w/shots that look straight out of a George Mikan how-to video
3 personal fouls on Delly. He comes out with 5:37 left in the first half.
Hawks discombobulated. no superstar to turn to
Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague are KILLING the Hawks right now. 3-13 combined from the field and some baffling decisions.
Horford not any better than Millsap so far
Al Horford just attempted and hit his first FG, 7:50, 2Q.
Kyrie Irving has now joined the team on the bench.
Teague 1-4, Millsap 1-5
Cavs sticking with their calling card of scrappiness, strong D and a whole lot of LeBron James (13 pts) so far. Lead Hawks 26-21 end of one.
Tristan Thompson remains a huge problem for Hawks. Outrebounded their entire team in first quarter, 8-7.
Cavs lead 26-21 after 1Q. LeBron has 13p on 4-of-6 shooting. Timo 6p; Tristan 8r; J.R. 5p. Korver has 10p for ATL.
LJ 13 pts, 1 reb, 0 asst
Hawks need some O. why not try Mike Scott?
If you can't beat him, shove him.
LeBron James has a 50-pound edge on Kent Bazemore
Flagrant 1 on Antic.
After a review, Antic gets a flagrant 1 foul.
Flagrant One on Antic
LeBron goes airborn and Antic takes him down with a shove to the shoulder. LeBron's L leg got caught under him a bit on the fall.
It might be time to insert Kendrick Perkins.
Flagrant-1 on Pero Antic? I think so. He just knocked LeBron James to the floor
Time for your best Antic pun
Delly guarded Korver that possession.
Is Paul Millsap even playing?
LeBron James ticked at Timofey Mozgov, telling him to "grab the ball."
Kyle Korver has nine of Hawks 12 points. Atlanta is 5-2 when he hits double figures in the playoffs.
2 personal fouls on Iman Shumpert. Not good
Ron Harper in the house
Jeff Teague is now 1-for-6 in this series when guarded by Delly.
Matthew Dellavedova's shot keeps missing to the right. Same thing in Game 1.
PA announcer just now: "He's baaaaaaaack. DeMaaaaaaaaarrrre Carroll"
As I said earlier today during a radio interview, anything DeMarre Carroll can give Atlanta will give it a lift emotionally.
shocked DeMarre Carroll is playing. how well, TBA
DeMarre Carroll will start tonight. Amazing
24 hrs ago, thought Cavs could sweep. now Kyrie is out and Carroll is in. things change quickly
Carroll to start for Hawks
DeMarre Carroll will start tonight for Hawks. Wow.
just so everyone knows, it's tendinitis, not tendonitis. don't know why, but it is
Cavs 1-6 without Kyrie in regular season
Hawks still making decision on Carroll
not really sure what harm a 2nd MRI would have done. is it not possible something could have happened since 1st one?
More on Kyrie: His foot is increasingly less of an issue. Taking different meds, doing different exercises. Cavs "hope" he plays Sunday
RE Kyrie: Andrews confirms tendinitis, but "different interpretation" of nature of injury and how to treat.
Delly to start for Kyrie
Cavs 1-6 without Kyrie Irving this season, 0-4 since January 15.
Hawks DeMarre Carroll is warming up on the practice court, trying to see if he can play. http://t.co/ae2ChEAERW
Reporter: "How much did being up 1-0 have to do with the decision to rest Kyrie Irving?" David Blatt: "Absolutely none."
Irving flew to Florida with team physician Dr. Richard Parker to meet with Andrews
Kyrie Irving traveled to Florida for evaluation where it was confirmed he's battling a bout of tendinitis in knee. There was no MRI taken.
Dr. Parker accompanied Kyrie on Florida flight. Again, no MRI today. Previous imaging on knee showed no tear
