Great win, feels amazing to be back!!
227.... 238 first two games
Warriors had many season worsts; FG %, 3-pt %, assists, 3s, scoring in a quarter. Rockets D was strong, but GS won't shoot that way on Fri.
James Harden went for 34p in strong, all-around offensive game. All he or anyone wanted to talk about was defense. A regular Bruce Bowen.
Any bowlers in Houston? I mean real bowlers...... If you average more then a 200 come to Emerald bowl on Boone rd...
Epic 24hours! Great team win and now time to rest...
Dwight Howard is in a much better mood after this one. He's singing "Purple Rain" in the locker room.
Parsons on the Rockets-Warriors rivalry: "There was no way I wasn't playing against them."
Hou 105, GS 83. Rockets did not quite go wire-to-wire as they had for 5 consecutive home games before Wed. They trailed for 13 seconds.
Rockets without Parsons: Lose to Jazz, Suns. Rockets with Parsons: Beat Spurs, Warriors. Somewhere, Dan Fegan is smiling.
Rockets needed a big win and they got it: 105-83 over GSW. Harden, Howard, Jones monstrous and Parsons' importance magnified yet again.
FINAL: Rockets 105, Warriors 83. Parsons returns, losing skid ends. Harden goes for 34, Dwight 22, 18reb. TJones adds 16, 10reb.
Marreese Speights is going to get fined for that. A ridiculous flop. Surprised the ref fell for it.
Harden knocks down his 3, his first since leaving SLC Mon. He was 0 for 10 Wednesday, 0 for 2 tonight before put Rockets up 98-79. Has 34.
As bad as the Rockets have been from long range (4-24), the Warriors -- best 3-pt shooting team in the league at 43.7% -- are just 2-16.
Dwight Howard Update: 18 Rebounds, 22 Points and going to the line for two.
Harden's toying with the Warriors at the moment. Fullcourt pass to Howard for two, then a mid-range shot to give him 31. 95-75 Rockets.
Rockets can't quite put game away, not because of typical GS run, but because Hou just 4 of 21 on 3s. Up 18, 8 left. Curry checking back in
Rockets just 4-19 from three-point range tonight. Warriors have cut it to an 18-point game, 9:52 left.
GSW trims 3 points off halftime deficit. HOU still up 21. Harden 27 on 17 FGs but most impressed by D. One of his best 2-way games of yr.
Rockets 87, Warriors 66 after 3. Harden with 27, Dwight 20, 14. Curry with 22, but just 5 of 14 with eight turnovers. Thompson 1 of 8.
Heading to the fourth, Rockets still up big. 87-66 Houston. Harden has 27, Howard has 20 and 14 boards.
Harden leaves the game, but seems OK on bench. Motiejunas fouled to stop the clock and get Harden some attention.
Harden scores to give him 27 (on 10-17 shooting) but he's down on the floor, hit in the face while driving. Walking off floor on his own.
Harden was hit in the face on drive by Jermaine O'Neal. Still down. (Was no call, by the way.)
Parsons was hit with a phantom call on his buddy Marreese Speights. You know Parsons was yapping about that before the free throws.
Klay Thompson has had a better game than Kevin Cutler. It happens.
Dwight hits 3 of 4 free throws and Jackson calls off the hack-a-Dwight.
Rockets up 23 w/ 5:19 left in 3Q. Dubs engage Hack-a-Howard. All of the sighs.
With Rockets up 23, we beging the hack-a-Dwight portion of the evening. He is 7 of 12 as he goes to line.
Hack-a-Howard with 5:19 left in the third quarter. Could be a loooong night.
Double-double for Terrence Jones who grabs his 10th board to go with 16 points. Rockets up by 26, 7:02 left 3Q.
HOU frontcourt has been nothing short of beastly. TJ/D12 have combined for 30 pts, 22 rebs. Bogut-Lee: 15 pts, 8 boards & 5 fouls for Bogut.
Bogut picks up his 5th foul. Still 8:28 left in the third quarter.
Warriors down 27 for second consecutive game. Harden makes it 28 so I guess the Rockets should be OK.
Better perimeter defense has also helped force turnovers, but Warriors have a lot to do with getting 13 in a half.
Rockets defense has cut off most dribble penetration, allowing Howard to stay in position, clean glass. GS with 14 points in paint at half.
Rockets had not had consecutive 30-pt quarters since Nets' version of defense left town. Worth adding here GS trailed by 27 in win Tuesday.
HOU offensive rating in that half: a scorching 116.1. GSW been giving up 107.1 points per 100 possessions in 6 games sans Iguodala.
Stay focused Rockets
Rockets 61, Warriors 37 at half. Harden with 18p. Howard 13p, 13r. Warriors shoot 27 %.Curry with 16, but made 3 of 9 shots.
Domination. Rockets take 61-37 lead to halftime. Harden 18 pts on 10 shots. Howard 13 pts on 5 FGs (and 13 boards). GSW shooting 27 FG%
At half, Rockets ALL OVER the Warriors, up 61-37. Dwight (13p-13r), Harden (18p-5r) both outstanding. TJones added 12p-7r.
Beverley has been outstanding defensively, but picked up a bad call charge and bad decision 3rd foul on a Curry 3. Curry doesn't need help.
Steph Curry with Beverley in the game: 0-5 from the field, 4 points, 4 turnovers. Two of those points came on *technical* free throws.
Late 2Q and D12 already has double-double (11/10), TJ nearly there, too (12/7). Harden has 14 on 5-8 shooting. Everything working. HOU up 21
Harden just looks completely different from Wed. Just finished a drive, then spiked a slam on a break. He's defending, too. Barnes 1 of 7.
An emphatic fast break slam by Harden gives him 14, puts the Rockets up 51-28, 2:20 left in the half.
Howard has double double -- 11p, 10r -- in 13 mins, much against Bogut. He's much more decisive some games. This game is one of them so far.
Hugely important when playing against GSW: Rockets have done nice job thus far keeping tabs on Dubs' perimeter shooters in transition.
Rockets second unit missing Lin as much as have in any of games he's been out. Rockets 0 for 3 with 4 tos in 3 1/2 minutes of 2nd quarter.
Stat that shocked me: F. Garcia (2 blocks already tonight) has 2 games this yr in which he's blocked 3 shots & 1 in which he's swatted 4.
Curry drills a 3 on break and Beverley was at scorer's table to check in before ball reached other end of court. Not a matchup for Brooks.
Kind of goes without saying, but the 12 points is a season-low 1st quarter for GS. Had 19 last game.
Moster 1Q for Jones, Howard (9 and 9) & Rockets, who take 31-12 lead. GSW apparently engaging 'fall behind by 27 pts & rally' strategy again
Rockets 31, Warriors 12 after 1. Dwight sat last minute or might have double-double, has 9 and 9. Dubs rushing toward Tuesday's 27p deficit.
Brilliant 1st quarter for Rockets, up 31-12 heading to 2Q. TJones has 11, Dwight 9p-9r, Harden 6p, Parsons 3 assists.
Rockets offense looks better in all kinds of ways, but the stunning part of game is on the other end. Warriors (!) 4 of 20, 0 for 4 on 3s.
Dwight Howard has 9 points, 9 rebounds already, still 51 seconds left in the first quarter. Rockets up 29-12.
Arian Foster cheered when shown on big screen. Not sure what reaction would be if Jim Crane gets on camera from his front row seat.
With Casspi in he apparently he had more than one uniform. He presented President Obama with a Rockets No. 18 last night.
Pace, early offense, solid D, strong board work & ball swinging side-to-side? Rockets checking all the boxes right now on way to 23-10 lead.
Parsons has made a big difference already, but he really looks uncomfortable. Kind of hunched over. Definitely toughing it out.
James Harden was 3-17 from the floor Wednesday against Phoenix. He's already 3-3 tonight. 20-8 Rockets.
David Lee never known as a defender, but TJones' 11 points in six min more about him and ball movement. Has finished breaks, hit a 3.
Welcome back, Rocket offense. 8-10 shooting for Houston, TJones already has 11. 18-8 Rockets over Warriors, 5:52 1Q.
11 pts for TJ less than 6 minutes in. He's 5-6 from the field. Parsons has assisted on 3 of those makes.
Omer Asik makes his way to Rockets bench. He was with the doctor (not the general manager).
HOU is +78 during the 294 mins T-Jones and Parsons have played together this yr. O-rating: 116; D-rating: 101.3. Related: HOU up 12-5 early.
Rockets not only got Chandler Parsons back, but apparently Terrence Jones, too. Much more aggressive early than in past two games.
Chandler Parsons returns and Terrence Jones goes back to beast mode. TJones has 7 points on 3-3 shooting. Rockets up 10-4 early.
