My iPhone seems to be broken, I pressed the HOME button and I'm still at work- Paige
Woody Paige is hilarious
Bad news for my NBA media friends: Pacers no longer with baseline seats. Moving up here (17 seats) http://t.co/Pd8c6ubXXB
LaRon Landry suspended 4 games for PEDs.
There have been contract extension talks between Pacers officials and Vogel’s rep. Vogel feels “very good” about being here long term.
Media day activities
Hibbert referenced last yr's Spurs as offensive model. "They passed up shots just 2 get somebody else an open shot. I really respect that."
More media day nuggets: David West said initial plan was to get him under 30 minutes this season. But post-PG injury, that likely changes
Also, not to belabor the "no visible limp" point… I thought his gait was more similar to that of any basketball player's, not an injured man
To me, this is still pretty mindblowing. Wednesday will be 2 months since the injury. Now, walking w/ no assistance http://t.co/ZycbTynKBt
G. Hill being s good sport on media day. "I look like a fool holding this." http://t.co/fEgJysW7na
This is Paul George's first day without the boot, but it's just for media day
The rumors of Boomer being traded were not true. http://t.co/EezgXysq92
One's injured. Another can opt out in the summer. And another says he's always wanted to play just 10 years. http://t.co/1NvgbsCgdu
Paul George without crutches at media day. Not available to media though. http://t.co/Q5sylxLhRA
What could have been. http://t.co/xTaMd7kRXT
Group shots http://t.co/727bENmV6s
DWest: “More than anything, we just have to be in a reality of where we are. … Everybody’s got to adjust."
David West said his goal was to play 10 years in the league, and everything else is a bonus.
West: "I understand this is a key moment for me personally, I don't have a lot of time…" Said he always wanted to play 10 years.
David West, honest about thought creeping in his mind that he came here to win a title but now that window is all but gone.
West: "It was like a punch to the gut."
David West revealed that he was watching the game when Paul George broke his leg. Initially didn't know what happened but realized impact
David West was watching USA Basketball scrimmage by himself when PG went down. “It was like a punch to the gut."
When asked if he's aligned with other guys' mentality not to talk so much abt goals, and just play, David West responds: "Sure."
David West: "We've got a challenge in front of us. We've got to figure it out."
David West will be last individual player for the media day podium.
Dar! That last tweet would've been way funnier if I had my numbers accurate: "2014-15" season of course
G. Hill said won't talk about goals: "This year we just need to shut up a little bit and do our job."
You can tell Vogel's message has resonated with team already. In their own way, each person whose stepped to the mic has muted expectations
Pacers all on the same page about goals. GHill: I think it’s better if we don’t make expectations, because then you guys judge us for that
G. Hill said guys have been on the court together: "From what I see, it's going to be a special team."
G. Hill: "... if that's what coach allows me to do that's what I'm going to do to best of my ability."
G. Hill "It will be nice to get to run the wing sometimes…"
GHill felt like success hurt them last year, as we all said, and they lost the sense of urgency. Likes having the chip back on the shoulder.
G. Hill on his aggressive offseason workouts: "I didn't do anything differently when (Paul) went down or when (Lance) left."
George Hill thinks his biggest improvement this season was with his mental game. Wants to be a bigger leader, make an impact.
George Hill, with a fresh lining and all, comes in complimenting the gathered press: "You guys look pretty today."
I miss rookie Roy, where he was hilarious and always had a joke. First day of the season and he looked like he was having a cavity filled.
Hibbert - focusing really, really hard on his vow of silence this season - repeated that he'll let coach do the talking this season.
Roy Hibbert, speaking softly, has vowed to basically shut up when it comes to releasing whatever's on his mind to the media.
Roy: This season I’m going to do a better job of not talking, saying stuff on my mind to the media as much … & just going out there playing.
Hibbert said Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also helped him mentally. Kareem joined Roy at his home for ninja movies. Seriously.
Hibbert says he’s got to establish himself early in games; wants the team to play like San Antonio, where it’s not about one man.
Roy Hibbert now at the podium. Said it was good working with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who came over to his house as well
