Copeland would average 25 playing in Atlanta's offense.
Pacers trail the Hawks 52-48 at the break. Scola leads Indiana with 13 points, 12 for PG. Hawks are 8-of-16 from deep.
Hibbert's elbow got up to Antic's neck. He got away with that one
Paul George and Jeff Teague jawing at one another as the two exchange baskets.
Little feistiness. Teague did PG on one end, then yelled at him. PG gets the open 3 and makes sure to find Teague to yell back
Hill checks in at 2-guard for Stephenson in small backcourt.
Stat-hunting Stephenson knocks West out of bounds trying to steal rebound.
Stealing rebounds ….
Hibbert not only didn't set a screen for PG, but didn't come to the ball after his man trapped his teammate in the corner. Turnover
This entire run has been brought to you by C.J. Watson and Luis Scola (11 points in the 2nd Q)
Vogel leaves Watson in with other four starters. Might've considered leaving Scola in, too, bringing in West for Hibbert.
Scola The Resurrector. He plays 9 mins and scores 13 points, then walks off the floor pumping up the crowd. It's the loudest it's been
Once down 11, Pacers have used a 10-2 spurt to draw within three, 40-37.
Luis Scola with 13 points, including 11 of Indiana’s 13 in the second. Hawks 40-34.
Looks like D West will check in after these free throws. But with Scola so hot, I wouldn't take him out. Play both D West and Scola
Scola's trying. Goes to rim, gets offensive board around three blue jerseys and scores again. Good leadership by the vet
Hibbert gets a stop on 1-on-1 defense.
Hawks 6-for-11 from 3-point land. They’ve won nine consecutive games in which they’ve hit double-digit triples.
Hawks 6-for-11 from 3-point land. They’ve won nine consecutive games in which they’e hit double-digit triples.
It's only the 8:01 mark and Vogel's going back to Hibbert and Paul George
Budenholzer's chief flaw as an NBA head coach: a scratchy voice his players can't hear in loud arenas. Which isn't a big problem in Atlanta.
Scola’s on fireeeee. 4-for-4, with a team-high eight points. Hawks 33-27.
Hawks shot 53% in the first and have a 26-21 lead. PG has 7/3/3; Teague with 7/5/3.
Loose balls. Advantage, ATL. Again.
Pacers fans with a sarcastic cheer for the Hawks’ first foul of the game, 2:06 mark in the 1Q. Pacers have five.
There's y'all foul.
David West with two early fouls for the second game in a row. Hawks’ offense rolling; they’ve made 8 of their last 11 after 0-for-5 start.
David West just picked up his second foul.
Vogel going with a two PG lineup, Hill and Watson in the backcourt. Mahinmi also now in for Hibbert.
After that tap back, crowd was really rooting for Hibbert on that one on one matchup with Antic, but he missed the shot
Players feed off coaches Vogel made a fuss abt the non call, emboldening PG to raise arm. How bout they focus on something other than calls?
I thought the ball and player movement was better, but Lance has played "pound the rock" too much already. Hasn't been effective in halfct
Tough for the underdog to play from in front on the road in a playoff series -- but Hawks don't seem bothered by it.
the Wolf of Wall Street-looking dude behind me in the expensive seats is an ATL fan and counting Kyle Korver blocks on Roy. "That's three!"
Pacers (4 turnovers) making a concerted effort to go inside. After scoring the game’s first seven points, ATL has gone in front, 13-11.
Pero Antic pulls the chair, Hibbert stumbles backwards but ball still swings to open Paul George in the corner for a 3
Pacers up 4-0 early on, Hibbert and West each with a bucket. PG on Teague, West checking Antic.
As expected, Paul George is on Jeff Teague
Which puts Hill on Korver.
George opens as the defender on Teague.
Good inside look from D. West leads to a dunk for Roy Hibbert to start off the game.
Paul George opens the game guarding Jeff Teague.
Non-game note: Lance Stephenson took care of four HS girls and their dates, giving them the ‘Ultimate Prom Experience.' Pretty cool.
Actually, keeping Hibbert closer to the basket is significant info. It means a significant change with the D if Antic is on the perimeter.
Greenfield-Central grad Kyle Gibson is 3-0 with an 0.93 ERA for Minnesota Twins. Faces Tampa Bay and David Price tonight.
Tell it's the playoffs. Vogel usually pretty forthcoming with the media during regular season. Tonight in pre-game? Virtually nothing.
The home white uniforms return tonight http://t.co/4OnF8nLKeA
Pacers going with same starting lineup tonight, Vogel says. Defense will keep Hibbert close to the basket, whatever they do.
Not letting coaches off hook. I suggested benching Hibbert weeks ago. But the players have to show some self pride. Otherwise, forget it.
Two days in summary: starts on defense & being in their gaps, be more physical, contain Teague, defend without fouling, not overthink on O.
