Clippers are looking at the next 5 years with CP3 and Griffin as the cornerstones. VDN was not going to be the coach for the next 5 years.

Sources said Clippers would talk to CP3 and Griffin before making any coaching moves. If they wanted him back, he'd be back.

There was no rush to a decision with VDN signed through June and Sterling looking at some coaches currently coaching.

No surprise that VDN is gone. It was only a matter of time after four straight losses to Memphis in the 1st round.
