Fisher made a couple of really, really impressive adjustments tonight in terms of his lineups. Really good sign for a new coach
Fisher coaches his butt off and Melo hits a gigantic, tough baseliner for sealer. Wonderful night for Triangle and Jackson Era. Wonderful.
Strong performance by Knicks that couldn't be predicted after last night. Melo looking for his shot early after passive start Wed. helped.
Huge win for Knicks. Important win for DFish.
Knicks hold LeBron to 5-of-15 shooting and eight turnovers in his return to Cleveland.
Melo finishes w 25 pts and 6 assists. JR w/ seven assists. Knicks had 30 assists as a team -- more than they had in any game last year.
To the guy I sent condolences to for betting on the Knicks tonight: You're a genius, bruh.
Interesting that Fisher pulls Larkin. Instead, uses the more sure-handed Prigioni. But Knicks turn it over, as shot-clock expires.
Eight turnovers for the King. Yikes.
Crazy to think that, if Melo fouls out, Travis Wear might be the best guy to replace him. This season is strange as hell already.
By the way, LeBron's shooting about the same as he did in his last Cleveland home game. 3 for 14 in that Game 5 loss to Boston in '10.
LeBron: 11 points on 3-of-13 shooting. Has seven turnovers.
Knicks are making every one of us look like fools. Really impressive showing here on the road in a hostile environment.
LeBron needs Ray Allen to hit a three.
J.R. just went all shape-shifting again.
Knicks have 26 assists tonight. Their season-high last year was 29.
LBJ, Love, & Irving have 42 of the Cavs 66. Not much production outside of that.
Knicks play a solid third quarter, and take the lead, but give up another basket in the final second of a quarter. Was a weak point last yr.
This looks like a potentially very skilled-flopping Cleveland team.
Win or lose, impressive effort by the Knicks.
Knicks really know how to ruin a good Northeast Ohio party. Up 67-60 with 2:12 left in 3rd but King J hasn't awakened yet for festival.
To be fair to JR, he's setting his teammates up extremely well tonight. Couple of really nice drive-and-kick sequences. Looks good.
J.R. hops off the bench and sheds the heating pad wrapped around his back.
JR wearing a heat pad for his back, which has been spasming on him in recent days.
Oddest thing wasn't that LeBron was 1-for-9 before hitting 3-pointer there but that after dismal 1st half he hadn't shot for over 5 minutes
Charles is needlessly struggling with this one. The East team that was out last year that's in this year is Cleveland.
That said, I probably would use Aldrich rather than Jason Smith. But ... *Kermit tea sip*
Fisher's lineup change at half strikes me as smart. Dalembert probably isn't mobile enough to help you defend a lineup like Cleveland's.
Travis Wear is at the scorer's table already.
Wonder who is playing the role of Mario Chalmers and getting yelled at by LeBron tonight.
What's worse - LeBron 1-for-9 or the humongotron failing? http://t.co/Bp5Sljs42R
Jason Smith starting ahead of Samuel Dalembert to start second half.
Jason Smith is starting the second half at center, replacing Dalembert
Part of the Humongotron is out.
So, LeBron is 1-for-9 with Travis Wear guarding him for a portion of the first half. Seems about right.
Travis Wear has already shown enough, between tonight & preseason, to show he deserves to be on this tm. Knicks would be wise to develop him
NYK hangs tight thru the first half, but gives up alley-oop in the final second of 2Q. Cavs up, 44-42, at half. LeBron: 1-of-9 w 4 turnovers
After James airball, he's 1 for 9 with 4 turnovers and Knicks up 2.
We're all tied at 40-40 because LeBron James is playing worse than Quincy Acy and Cole Aldrich.
LeBron is 1-for-8 with four turnovers.
LeBron 1-of-8 with four turnovers so far.
LeBron will explain his first half performance in a letter ghost written by Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins. Can't wait.
Knicks have tied the game with a 16-5 run. LeBron has been very quiet.
LeBron is just 1-of-6 to start this game.
Can we just get Travis that video of him defending LeBron and call it a night.
Cole Aldrich in game. Travis Wear in game. Safely you can say Fisher has no idea about his rotation. Not for a while.
Where is Johnny Football?
Back spasms again for J.R. Smith, according to Tina C. Came out of game. Never had real back issues before preseason.
JR is hurt. Holding right side/back. My wifi is spotty. Bieber is sitting between Usher & my pastor. And LeBron plays for the Cavs again.
J.R. Smith just left the game in pain. It could be the back that hampered him in the preseason.
Justin Bieber, Usher and Michael Strahan are sitting together. I normally sit with Berman, Herring and Popper. They win.
We're not in Miami anymore. Justin Bieber gets booed when shown on the screen.
JR seems to break every rule that was ever written involving the triangle.
I respect K. Love going with the cutoff shirt under the jersey. That was my move.
JR seems to break every rule that was ever written involving the triangle offense.
Travis Wear getting some early minutes. Fisher mentioned as an option on the wing during pregame.
Jason Smith, who was rather horrible last night, has bagged 2 straight mid-range jumpers. That's why they signed him.
Marv once worked for Knicks. As did Thibodeau & Steve Clifford. How's that for a triangle. And they were all dismissed by...the Great Kazoo
Gonna be painful watching NYK take this many midrange jumpshots all yr, especially when you consider how good they were from 3 not long ago
Knicks are 6-for-18, missing open looks all over the place, and there have been many possessions with no triangle being run.
"I don't need shooters, I need MAKERS."
LeBron a bit out of control so far, so pepped to be back. 3 turnovers for James but Cavs lead 21-12.
"It must be cool to know that you're the best basketball player in the world." -- my 8-yr-old, accurately.
Looks like the Knicks have given up on the triangle until the day Marc Gasol signs.
