"Why are your shoes untied maggot?!" "Sir, yes sir. J.R. Smith untied them when I wasn't looking, sir!"
First, there was an intruder in the White House and today we get J.R. Smith at West Point.
Lunch at Blue Chip Burger in nearby Middletown, hometown of Cleanthony. Owned by ex-colleage K. Gleason. http://t.co/FUQnxOjcCc
The guy seated in front of David Beckham at PSG-Barca is an Italian World Cup legend. And yes, that's Beyoncé & Jay-Z http://t.co/lRQv3o7yaw
J.R. Smith at West Point is odd, but still more surprised that Filip Bondy and Berman made it through the security checkpoint.
More JR Smith West Point: "If I wake up at 5 am, go to sleep at 6, I don’t think that works w/my schedule. That is a different lifestyle."
There was some media-generated talk today about the confusion on defense last season. Carmelo said this year's scheme "makes sense already."
Carmelo called Jeter a "mentor." Said they've discussed "the ins & outs" of NYC. "You can't get a better guy to give you advice on that."
Amar'e: " “Right now, I feel great. There’s no limitations as far as games played at this point.... Lord willing, I'll play 82 games."
Shumpert: "If that's what y'all wanna call me, y'all got it. But I'm not gonna co-sign that. ... I'm a win-and-D guy. I'm an O-and-D guy."
Asked Shumpert whether it would bug him/feel limiting to be called a 3-and-D guard. "Im not 3-and-D. I dunno what that is, but Im not one."
It's like old times - Fisher: "Today we spent two and a half hours on defense. We didn’t do one triangle specific drill of any kind today."
Carmelo said he went to Jeter's final game at Yankee Stadium - and has talked often. Admitted it's a cliche, but said he tips his cap to him
Fisher and Amar'e say all precautionary - resting for the long run. Said he participated in two hours of work before media came in.
Melo said he was at derek jeter's last home game and he got chills the way it ended.
Fisher: Amar'e is fine.
The Knicks only practiced defense today, no triangle yet.
JR said he saw the security guard w an AK-47 here at West Point. Jokingly said he tried to make nice w him. "Ay dawg, I come here in peace!"
Asked JR abt the way he's perceived vs the lifestyle here at West Point. Said he was just happy to make it thru security.
Fisher said Amar'e went through the first two hours of practice and then they pulled him. Said he will practice tonight and tomorrow
Amar'e remains a spectator during a 4-on-4 drill.
Now four squads working defensive drills and Amare watching. First recovery day I've seen from media day
We've only been in gym for the last 15 mins or so, but Amare -- possibly resting -- hasnt participated in the portion we've been present for
Knicks shuttling people in and out during this full court 5-on-5 drill. Only one not participating is Amar'e Stoudemire.
Knicks split up into four teams for scrimmaging - only player not to make a team is Amare.
Based on the 2 minutes of practice I've watched, Andrea Bargnani will shoot 100% from the field this season.
I will say the Knicks triangle defense is clearly ahead of the triangle offense.
The Knicks already gave up Raymond Felton's No. 2. Langston Galloway is the recipient
At West Point for Knicks camp. Which beat writer would be the most likely to make it through the academy? http://t.co/p5Hcjzzv0N
Knicks in the house. http://t.co/iv00UUYFDf
I was wishy-washy on Knicks championship hopes - until I saw Berman's tweet about 5-man monster in the middle. From here to the Hall for all
Phil Jackson really has built deep 15-man roster. Got 5 guys who can play the 5 - including Amar'e-Andrea. Samuel D, Jason Smith, C. Aldrich
(Also the only story about the Knicks in the NYT today.)
Thank God for today
Conscious enough to know Every decision I make should reflect and lead to the Ultimate goal & my purpose! Straight to the Truth it is
The synchronicity sometime feels beyond my control, but even tho is feels that way i feel like I do everything in my power to line it up
Flight just ran out of Biscoff cookies, and it's all I can do not to flip out like that scene in Airplane when they ran out of coffee.
