Kurt Dahle is leaving @thenewpornos, via their Facebook. Damn. He always looked like he was having a blast at shows. Fun to watch.
Jays win 6-3.
I <3 defensive indifference.
Jays bottom three today: 1-for-11, 8 strikeouts, 2 runs (somehow).
And, Cecil gets out of it. He's pretty good at doing that.
Two on for Longoria, which is exactly what the Jays want against a punchless lineup.
Encarnacion takes Steve Geltz's first pitch deep to LF. 6-3.
Lind delightfully screws up the cool-guy high-five that Bautista tried to offer him.
Lind home run. Just his fifth of the year makes it 5-3 Jays.
Really into home plate ump Paul Nauert's dismissive head shakes for balls. Reminds me of my childhood.
Pillar with the unnecessary Pete Rose slide into second.
"Views and thoughts are yours, you just don't know it yet."
Anthony Gose walking up to "This Is How We Do It" will never get old.
Valanciunas' final World Cup stats: 14.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 70% FG (best in tournament), 81% FT
Some ups/downs but overall a strong tourney for JV capped off by a brilliant performance today. 25pts, 9reb, 0 TOs, 8/12 FG, 9/10 FT in loss
Four Jays base runners this inning: reach on passed ball/K, soft grounder up middle, bunt single, single off P glove.
This is minuscule ball
This game's tribute to my one-win softball team is remarkably on point.
Tough loss for Lithuania. Played great thru 3Qs but Diaw & the French made plays when it counted. France wins bronze, Lithuania finishes 4th
Gose and Goins on base at once. Where is Big Foot?
It's funny how "(s)he's no Rob Ford!" is a good thing, unless it's about Doug Ford.
FIBA, where free throws happen
Spectacular finish to this Lithuania/France 3rd-place game. Big plays, lots of emotion. France leads by 3, 15 seconds left.
The bad-ish Rays derailing the average Jays' late-season chances really brings back the mediocre old days.
Jays give Kevin Kiermaier two of the four bases (poor throwing decision, wild pitch) he needed to score. 2-0.
Evan Longoria is p. good.
Meanwhile, Lithuania is 10 minutes away from bronze. They're up 71-64 on France after 3 quarters.
Valanciunas has looked great this afternoon. Getting good position & taking advantage of undersized French team. 18pts 5reb 6/7 FG after 3Q
Today's Jays lineup, vs. Hellickson: Reyes 6, Bautista 9, Lind DH, EE 3, Valencia 5, Thole 2, Pillar 7, Goins 4, Gose 8. Dickey pitches.
Way to give into your basic human instincts, Reyes.
Racism. Murder. Domestic abuse. Child abuse. Hell of a week, Sports.
The NFLPA board voted tonight to accept the NFL’s new drug polices for substances of abuse and performance enhancing drugs.
Serbia keeps on rolling, knocking off France. Will take on the U.S. in final I had Croatia as my tourney darkhorse, was close geographically
Leiweke: "We're very aggressive on agenda & it's going to take some time. [The board] feels comfortable that I am pushing the agenda" /4
Leiweke: ... On a 9-pt agenda while they are going through their (search) process. I don't see myself leaving 'tomorrow' ... /3
Leiweke told me relations w MLSE board are good: "It's never been calmer with the board. We're very focussed. We just agreed ... /2
Talked to Leiweke; was surprised discussion at Ryerson had blown up. Denied 'character issues' comment was aimed at a Leafs player. /1
France-Serbia on NBA TV Canada now. Watch Boris continue his request for the basketball treble.
LRT: Chow is going to have to come with something stronger than, "I'm different than those guys, really," to win.
You can almost hear Michael Gearon thinking "Will this leak get Danny fired?" with each passing leak.
LRT: I'd be surprised if Leiweke makes it to June in his current job with that sort of frankness.
Finally, Toronto politics can be boring again. It's been too long.
set the city ablazzzzzzzzzze
Oh good, now the genuinely evil Ford brother is running for mayor.
And teams can obviously do so much when incident doesn't take place in a casino. Still, league hasn't exactly been leader on front.
To be clear, charges were dropped in Johnson case.
I predict the NBA will start to be more punitive about these cases. But it will be just as reactionary as the NFL.
Of course, the case is still playing out. But just because we don't have video for it doesn't mean we should not acknowledge it.
Late '70s hot take: Dreams is clearly the best song on Rumours.
"You know what people love?" somebody asked rhetorically in the NFL's PR office. "The muzzling of free speech."
I won me a throphie......
Funny thing is I'm gone listen to U2 music just to see what they like be because I'm open to all music
U2 got the game messed putting themselves on my phone like that without my permission!
