Just gotta keep working!
The Jazz really like Brock Motum but with Trevor Booker, Steve Novak and Jeremy Evans simply overloaded at the 4
Utah Jazz have waived Brock Motum. Roster sits at 14. Jazz could make waiver claim on players released by other teams
We have not seen the last of Brock Motum in the NBA.
The fact I misspelled Brock Motum's last name is probably poetic justice considering I poked fun at fans for doing the same this summer.
The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has waived F Brock Motum. Following the move, Utah’s roster now stands at 14 players.
The jazz have waived Brock Motum.
Halftime: Portland State 13, Weber State 7. Wildcats lose freshman LB/leading tackler Emmett Tela to injury. Will update ASAP.
Jazz forward Steve Novak joked that we needed to hurry our interview session so he wouldn't be late to the signing event and get fined.
After the end of the first quarter, Weber State and Portland State are tied, 7-7
Derrick Favors is not practicing today. The jazz center missed Friday nights preseason finale with a sore knee
Derrick Favors (sore knee) did not practice today.
Not a big crowd for Weber State (0-7) and Portland State (2-5). But a gorgeous day, scenery. http://t.co/DYjeTYvdV8
707 hp can't beat that
That dodge challenger hellcat is a bad ass car!!!
Another Saturday, another outbreak of bad P.I. calls. Starts with K-State defender all over Texas receiver. And so it goes ...
If my next Vine video isn't of me ending the life of the housefly that keeps buzzing around and on my head in bed, I will have failed.
Suns guard Eric Bledsoe: "This was by far the hardest game of the preseason to me. We got beat up a lot ..."
Press releases at 10:55 on a Friday night FTW: http://t.co/CZHmhHzKev
The Jazz have elected to exercise their 3rd-year team options for G Trey Burke and C Rudy Gobert. Options for both are through 2015-16
The Jazz have one week to work out extensions for fourth-year players Enes Kanter and Alec Burks. They'll become RFA if that doesn't happen.
As expected, the Jazz exercised their team options on second-year players Trey Burke and Rudy Gobert. Both are guaranteed through 2015-16.
The Utah Jazz exercised team options on Trey Burke and Rudy Gobert.
Dante Exum played just 9:50 tonight. Why? "Dante was struggling a little bit against what were very strong, physical guards," Snyder says.
Snyder says Suns' physicality bothered Jazz, who went too late in the shot clock. “We took some [shots] that didn’t really have a chance."
The Jazz gave up 20 fast-break point( double their preseason high), but Snyder says he didn't think it hurt them as much as pick-and-roll D.
Snyder: hopefully we will execute better when we're really keeping score
Gordon Hayward had 24 points, five rebounds and three assists tonight
Snyder said he sat Dante Exum because he struggled with the physicality of the Phoenix guards. Wanted to give Ian Clark a chance
Snyder: their physicality bothered us. I didn't think we ran our offense with much force tonight
Quin Snyder: they hurt us in pick and roll. I didn't think our pace was good tonight
Final: Suns 105, Jazz 100. Utah finishes the preseason 5-3. Hayward had 24p/5r/3a. Burks w/ 20 points. Thomas leads Suns w/ 19 points.
Jazz finish the preseason with a 105-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns....let's get it going for real now
Jazz trail the Suns 103-98 with 9.3 seconds remaining...looks like Utah will finish preseason 5-3
Hayward very controlled to stop a 2-on-1, then he gets an and-one on the other end. Jazz within a bucket, 99-96.
Phoenix leads Utah 97-93 with 2:13 remaining
The Jazz are seeing a Phoenix team playing at regular season intensity. Hasn't been nearly as easy as the last three weeks
Eric Bledsoe just beat Enes Kanter on a jump ball, and it leads to a Phoenix bucket. Suns 94, Jazz 91 with about 3 minutes left to play.
Snyder mentioned that he's been on Rodney Hood to hit the glass harder. The rookie has 8 boards to go with 8 points tonight. Suns up 92-91.
wow. refs just seriously bailed Bledsoe out there.
PJ Tucker hits a three to put the Suns up 91-89....great play by Thomas getting into the lane and collapsing the defense
Which stationary blue object is harder to look at: Boise State's Smurf Turf or BYU's defense?
Now Thomas and Clark get into it...lol....good time to note this two teams will see each other again 8 days from now
Phoenix is the first team this preseason to really take the Jazz out of their offense
Big development in 2nd half: Ian Clark taking second unit point guard minutes over Dante Exum. Will ask why later. Could be nothing. Orrr
Thomas goes to the James Harden school of creating contact and getting a call, finishes, and 1
The birthday boy Jeremy Evans finishes an alley opp from Alec Burks. Jazz up 83-81 early in the fourth quarter.
Jeremy Evans catches the oop from Burks
Enes Kanter is 4-14 in this game. Simply can't finish over the length of Alex Len and Miles Plumlee
These three Phoenix guards are really REALLY tough. Don't be shocked to see this Suns team win 50-53 games.
Thomas just isolated against Rodney Hood, crossed him and hit a jumper at the third quarter buzzer....77 all heading into final 12
That was Gobert's fourth foul, so Kanter's back in the game for him
Utah State scrimmage: White team wins, 33-24. Two 10-minute halves. Standouts: Jalen Moore, JoJo McGlaston, Lew Evans (Tulsa transfer).
btw, Gobert has 8 points and 6 rebounds in 14 minutes...
Bledsoe has been going at the Jazz this entire third quarter. Gobert has a real mean streak, so this isn't surprising
Eric Bledsoe goes to the hoop, gets fouled by Gobert. Bledsoe talks, Rudy talks back. Bledsoe says to Rudy "F--- you B----"...Preseason lol
Guy named Yeck on BYU? Good point.
Eric Bledsoe is nice...just tough to deal with on both ends
Bronco doing crossword puzzle during timeout?
Jazz on a 6-0 run, capped by Gordon Hayward's jumper...now lead 62-55
Alec Burks, basically in constant attack mode. Guy never saw a driving lane he didn't like
Hayward with a quick outlet to Booker. Not that this is how Snyder measures pace, but those are the Jazz's first fast-break points tonight.
Just saw that Boise State is beating BYU 34-14 in the first half. Is the Cougars' defense doing a Friday night fireside?
Utah had a 12-point lead at one point in the first half. But the Suns are running & just took a 53-51 lead early in the third quarter.
Bledsoe is everywhere defensively. Basically, he's killing Utah's offense by himself. Impressive display of help and on ball defense
Eric Bledsoe giving Burke a lot of trouble. So big, fast and physically gifted
They keep confusing me when they say "Broncos' offense" and "Bronco first down "
One more half of preseason basketball remaining
this track by Keyshia Cole N.L.U. goes SUUUUUUPPPPERRRRR hard
Trey Burke showing some strength to get to the paint, absorb contact & still score. He has 7p/2r. Hayward 13/1/1. Jazz up 51-47 at halftime.
Jazz lead the Suns 51-47 at halftime
Utah has not closed this quarter well. 49-39 lead down to four points
Jazz go small. Hayward moves to power forward
Jazz up 49-39 over Phoenix with 2:42 remaining in the first half. Hayward with 13 to lead all scorers. 5-6 from the field
Alec Burks once again getting himself to the free-throw line
Booker can't get the first tip to go but keeps at it & scores the bucket on a second try. Jazz have 9 second-chance points to PHX's 3.
I can see Trey Burke playing 35 minutes a night this season
This has been a pretty solid stint of minutes for Dante Exum. Running the pick and roll well....has set Gobert up for easy rolls to the rim
Gordon Hayward with a solid first quarter: 8 points (3/4 shooting), a board and an assist. Jazz up 33-28 on Phoenix after one.
Hayward and Kanter lead the Jazz with eight points each
Great hesitation move by Exum to finish the first quarter. Jazz lead the Suns 33-28
Gordon Hayward basically playing point guard with the second unit
Jazz lead 27-19 with 2:46 remaining in the first quarter
